Tried a set of Slydog Command skis and they were too aggressive (similar to a c&a profile), very heavy steering in hard packed conditions. Went back to the prosteers and ran 6" Woody's ace bars which are square and taller to act as an extension of the keel. Much cheaper than the switch to gripper skis with Bergstrom carbides and handles quite well in all conditions. Definitely would benefit from the grippers if I was riding off trail more.

ran them on my vr1 for about 5k and can’t say I was real impressed. went back to stock, bit more darting but seem to bite more in the turns.

Hmm interesting. I definitely didn't have the same experience but everyone is different I guess. Cheers, Jesse

Sounds like the Bergstrom carbides make a great handling VR1 that much better,if that's even possible. I hear the VR1 is and incredibly well handling sled right out of the crate

Hey Jason! Ya I was shocked too. It works so well out of the box thats why I had never changed anything until this point.
