@Cechaflo8 ай бұрын

Hello, I am glad to share some of my upholstery knowledge! I am using triple transport sewing machines: Pfaff 1245-706(the one of this video), Durkopp&Adler 767-FA/373( I show in this video:kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnK3ZqR6n9yAqbs: and one double needle, post bed sewing machine (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rIaXnnSrfZaslbc) I would advise you the use of a triple transport sewing machine. Not necessarily the Pfaff trade mark. Consew, Juki, Adler, Singer triple transport are also excellent machines to start doing upholstery. Welcome to this channel anytime!

I was watching a video of yours on sewing square corners and noticed that you needle was moving forward with each stitch. I don't think my Sailrite walking foot does that - the needle only goes up and down - the bottom dog moves backwards and so does the presser foot - I'm going to take a look at that tomorrow AND be watching more of your videos - thank you
@Cechaflo3 жыл бұрын
The machine I show in this video is a 'triple transport machine' designed for thick materials. Three mechanisms take part in to drag the material backwards or forwards: needle bar, feed dog and small presser foot. The Sailrite you mentioned is a 'double transport sewing machine' also designed for thick materials. Two mechanism take part dragging the material: feed dog and rear presser foot. Both models are also called 'Walking foot machines'. Sailrite also sells triple transport machines which are capable of sewing thicker materials than a double transport machine.

Any thought of going to a servo motor? I saw how you slowed down a clutch. For a beginner a Servo is Indispensable. Right now I have a double feed with mc-scr servo like and a couple of triple feed clutch. I can't wait for my servo motors to arrive later today. Absolutely No Way I could have progressed as far as I have without the servo. With Vinyl and Leather - the placement of EVERY Stitch needs to be controlled.

Definitely a servo motor is a much better device for beginners and professionals. I will buy one at any moment. The tricks of 'slowing down the speed' are only a 'just in case option' if we can not afford one.

What is the type/name/model of that small foot on the video?
Hello colleague, a question how can I make to lengthen the stitch of my consew 206rb-1 triple feed machine is very short, it only gives me 4.5 mm. I await your answer, thank you.
@Cechaflo4 жыл бұрын
Your machine is supposed to give a 6 mm stitch length at least. One cause could be when the feed dog is too low and does not drag properly heavy materials. If the stitch length is larger with thin materials, then the solution would be to lift a little bit the feed dog. The second common issue happens when the 'small foot' does not 'touch' on time the 'feed dog'. Do a test with a piece of paper and no thread on the machine. The stitch length should be the same forwards and backwards. The needle should meet the same needle hole. The solution would be to adjust the alternating foot.

Look for a old Singer 111w15x (111w154 and 111w155 are very common in the series . They are plentiful and many many companies used the exact design for decades) Just have to learn how to work without reverse. If you are nimble with your knee lifter you can master it as I , young grasshopper. And watch his videos closely , there are plenty of instances that reverse is skipped and the knee lift was used and material is just pulled back into position to start sewing again over that area just like a back stitching. 👍🏼

It's a bit confusing why it's called "triple" transport, when there appears to be only one action that is moving the work through the machine. In the side view at 3:00, we see that the small foot and the needle bar are literally connected to each other mechanically, so wherever the small foot goes, the needle bar will go automatically. Seems like that should count as only one moving part. I do see that the feed dog mechanism is a separate part (sure, everything is all connected eventually, but we can view the feed dogs as having a different purpose), so that should count as a different moving part. So adding the small foot mechanism, I only see 2 mechanisms transporting work through the machine.
@Cechaflo3 жыл бұрын
Three mechanisms take part in to drag the material (fabric, vinyl, etc.) backwards or forwards: needle bar, feed dog and small presser foot. The three parts work out at unison transporting the material to the back or front.
@mykalimba3 жыл бұрын
@@Cechaflo I see what you're saying, but the point I am trying to make is that it is impossible for the needle bar and small presser foot to work independently of each other, so it seems like those should be considered as one mechanism, not two separate. Maybe the three mechanisms are supposed to be: needle bar (including small presser foot), feed dog, large presser foot? Ultimately, it doesn't really matter if I can't understand why the 3 parts are those 3. What you are demonstrating is what the industry considers a triple transport to be, and that's what's important here.
