So about 1 year ago, I'm driving when my iPod just dies, & the J's kicks back in with this song. I'm hooked from the 1st chorus. Quickly shazam it just incase I missed the intro title. Shazam comes back with info, & I start bashing my head on car steering wheel laughing my head off. Why? Because my wife is Dutch!!! 😆 Introduce her this song, & when the Title verse came on she just lit up. We're both massive fans of this band now. 👍👍Seen them in December & this tour. Hope they're back soon. So glad my iPod died.

Yeah Conor tends to slur(?) his words a little. I've been a fan since 2013 so I'm used to it now, but pretty much everyone needs to google the lyrics of their songs the first time :')

They slur words like that because it makes it easier for their vocal chords to stay tight while they hit the high notes.

Saw these guys at Splendour a couple of years ago. One album in and they absolutely ROCKED it! December 2017 at the Brightside in Brisbane Fortitude Valley. Insane gig in such a small venue. People stuffed in, never more than 15metres from the stage, sweat and great music! July 2018 Eatons Hill Tavern. Bigger venue and still no less intense! Nothing But Thieves have to be the GREATEST band on the planet right now! If you have an opportunity to see them live... GRAB IT, before they are playing massive venues where you can't get close!
@Kegman0276 жыл бұрын
Graham Horchner we had the whole family at the EH - front row - perhaps one of the best nights of my life - totally agree that they are going to be huge - I reckon they might end up being bigger than Muse - their music is perhaps a bit more accessible (more pop-y?) that will get wider play in more stations. So psyched that I’ve gotten in on the ground floor that will be part of my life for the next few decades.

i don’t think the music would be what it is if it wasn’t for every single person in the band.The work they put into every song in insanely good, from the bass to the drums to the vocals. "Amsterdam" is a popular song by the English rock band Nothing But Thieves. It was released as a single in 2015 and is also included on their self-titled debut album, "Nothing But Thieves." The song showcases the band's alternative rock sound with its energetic instrumentation and anthemic chorus. "Amsterdam" features powerful vocals from lead singer Conor Mason, who delivers emotive and passionate lyrics. The song's lyrics touch on themes of escapism and the desire to break free from one's circumstances. It has resonated with listeners for its relatable message and catchy melodies. "Amsterdam" has been well-received by both fans and critics and has become one of Nothing But Thieves' signature songs. It has helped to solidify their place in the alternative rock scene and has contributed to their growing popularity as a band.
