I was so upset I couldn't afford to go see them when they were in the US, I love Queen, I fell in love with Adam when he came on Idol, I just knew he would win and totally couldn't believe it when he didn't. I loved this interview so much! Adam is an open book and an interviewer's dream come true! He has remained humble for the 11 years I have been supporting his career. Regarding his first gig with Queen at the MTV EMA's in Belfast. On 11/01/2011, Adam tweeted out "Make sure you tune in to the EMA's this Sunday" and there was a Glambert meltdown once we realized Queen was being presented the "Global Icon Award" on 11/06/2011. Adam was not introduced before their live performance and it created such a stir from those that didn't know him. One of my favorite memories ever!! Jeanette Kejling - Well.......they’ve been together for about 9 years with Lambert. Where is the new music? John and Freddie wrote the major hits for the group, not Brian and Roger. Not one hit from either of them since his death. Did you ever think that as a group they agreed not to release any new music under the Queen brand without Freddie and John? After Freddie got sick they agreed that everything would be split four ways, this includes any new music. They can’t release new music under Queen unless they pay Mary and Freddie’s sister and John too. It’s called royalties. This remains in “The lap of gods”.

Jeanette Kejling - Brian and Roger have both written music on their own and it’s went nowhere. Also when Freddie went solo it was a flop too. These four men had something that was so special, it will last for the ages. If it’s ain’t broke then don’t fix it. I’m satisfied with what they have for it is timeless. We are fortunate enough that they are still performing. Freddie died when I was 27 years old and I thought it was over. Adam has helped to create a renaissance for the group which makes the old music sound new. I would love a new blockbuster hit too, what true fan wouldn’t? I’m realistic, I wouldn’t risk it not being successful. Their legacy is too important.

It's interesting that radio personnel ask Adam how singers can get discovered. That used to be the role of radio stations. DJs would select new music that they thought their audience would like to hear. In fact, it was British DJ Kenny Everett who played Bohemian Rhapsody 14 times over two days ... on a morning show no less ... despite the suits saying radio wouldn't play this weird six-minute song. Listeners flooded radio stations and record stores with requests for the song, and Queen's record company relented and released it as a single (back then a "single" was a physical record). Do these radio people realize they've abdicated their role to people who care more about sticking to formulas than promoting real talent?

He is considered objectively as one of the best voices in mainstream music ever by many music and voice experts, not just his fans and not just Brian May,he was even classified as second best rock vocalist of all time on one popular blog a long time ago. Every writer and producer who works with him end up dumbfounded by him and his voice.. So yes, Freddie would be impressed by Adam's voice, he does crazy things with, things not even Freddie could do.

Credit and respect to Adam and amazingly talented singer, unpretentious and a very humble guy. Then there is the vocalist Marc Martell who possesses the identical voice of Freddy Mercury in Roger Taylor’s tribute “Queen Extravaganza” and was Freddie’s voice behind the movie “Bohemian Rhapsody” where many are screaming out that Marc should be fronting Queen.

superloose The imitator sounds like a sterile version of Freddie, not identical by any means. He is no longer in QE. He used QE to gain some notoriety then left after a tour had been announced and tickets sold, to start his own tribute band. Also, his participation in the film was minimal. I know there are some MM fans who think he should be fronting Queen, but Queen have said they would not be touring had it not been for Adam and that they will play with no one else. He is Queen’s last frontman. "In the end, the decision was made to work with the live recordings and improve them as much as possible. The only singing by the vocal double that was used are bits for which no recordings of Freddie exist, for example where he sings 'Happy Birthday' to himself at the piano. (Soundonsound)

Adam Lambert is one of the best male pop vocal Performers. I think his voice is a little bit too pop and clear to sing many Queen songs.... Freddie has a best metal singing technique vibrato and that raspy singing voice that sounds aggressive and evil. Adam is a little bit soft to interpret many songs of the catalog of one of the greatest hard rock and heavy metal bands ever.

In other words they rather tour with someone they see something in.and like.then someone that has a better fit voice. But Queen is an essential Hard Rock and Heavy Metal band with many pop hits. I only think that he sound soft for many songs. In my opinion is a fact. Farrokh Bulsara became Freddie Mercury in stage. Freddie said “I’m so powerful on stage I seem to have created a monster. When I’m performing I’m an extrovert yet inside I’m a completely different man.” Is Flamboyant but at the same time agressive and evil. A macho persona.

Freddie in a rock god with a very very powerful image. Adam have a high pitched voice without vibrato. Queen and Adam Lambert is a very entertaining show for those who never have the oportunity to go to a real Queen concert. I'm afortunate. Freddie's precense was incredibele a real monster. A person that hold an audience in a plam of his hand.

@TheaterPup I actually know a lot about the band. Adam might be talented in his own right but Freddie Mercury was unparalleled as a vocalist, frontman and songwriter. There was a reason they actually stopped making albums after Freddie's death (except for Made In Heaven but basically because Freddie recorded vocals before his death) and why John Deacon didn't return when Brian and Roger got back together during the mid-2000s and started working with Paul Rodgers. Heck, Paul himself even acknowledged how irreplaceable Freddie was.

Long live Queen." 👑🙌. (Stuff) Lambert is totally comfortable in his skin as the new ‘front man’. It’s no mean feat being a replacement to one of the most revered rock singers of all time but it soon becomes obvious that Lambert can not only shine as brightly but also own every song as if he wrote them himself. For me, watching Lambert’s performance is like being at a great Broadway Musical. Every actor and singer will give the classics their own twist but it’s how they sell it that matters. And there was no doubt tonight. Lambert took this one all the way to the bank! (Ambient Light NZ) Brian May was phenomenal as always, but the star here is Adam Lambert. From his amazing wardrobe, (I’m jealous) to the flawless eye makeup and not one hair on his head out of place - he looked the part, and then he performed the part. Brian May was correct when he said Adam was a miracle sent to them from God. There is only one man that can do this job justice, Adam Lambert is the only person on Earth who can do it.
