Fun fact: Joshua's dad is played by Matthew Perry's dad, John Bennett Perry. Although subtle, when Emily and Ross are speaking on the phone and she says she loves him, Rachel looks uncomfortable. Despite being a hardcore Ross and Rachel stan I always find that phone scene so cute though. Chandler mentions that the only true famous Joey is Joey Buttafuoco, who had an affair with an underage girl 18 years his junior (she was 16) who shot his wife in the face (she survived). He was convicted of statutory rape of a minor but only served four months in jail. That is why Joey says "Yeah he really hurt us". The scandal was a tabloid sensation about 5 years before this aired. When Phoebe is at her OB/GYN the doctor has a name tag for Dr. Oberman. That's the same name as Carol's OB/GYN. Chandler IS a word. It is a dealer in supplies and equipment for ships and boats. Even though Frank Jr is a potential Avenger level threat, it's so cute how committed he is to being a father, especially considering how his own father abandoned him. But instead of having colder feelings about it because of it, he makes up for it by trying to be the best father he never had, even if he's not fully ready yet. I actually have the same kind of fear Joshua has (although not to the same extreme). Not birds in general, but specifically poultry like chicken, geese, and turkeys. I was taking care of a friend's animals in high school while her family was on vacation, and a turkey attacked me! Ever since, free-range poultry has freaked me out. But as long as there's a gate/fence, door between me and them it doesn't bother me, so it's not quite as bad as Joshua's phobia.

Something to consider about Ross and "nice" Emily, he was worried that she may cheat on him with Susan, but she just spent two weeks cheating on Colin, and Ross was cool with that because she picked him. Emily is a cheater, and Ross is okay with that as long as Ross isn't the one being cheated on. So, neither Emily nor Ross are nice in this scenario. Also, Ross flying to London after she told him she was involved with someone else is desperate and stalkerish, not romantic, but it is treated as okay because Ross is a main character. The Ross/Emily plot is one of the ones I hate the most of the entire series.

I feel like it's implied that Emily had some unofficial "thing" with Colin back home in London, but that they weren't exclusive or committed, just dated some and liked each other, but it wasn't cheating if she saw somebody else, hence getting closer to Ross while on vacation out of the country, and she had assumed she would resume things with Colin when she got home, only to second guess things when Ross told her he loved her and she realized she reciprocated.

This show and others of the time, like "Murphy Brown" when they tried to figure out if the new guy at work, who Miles dreamt about, was gay or straight totally ignore the possibility of people being Bi, Demi, Pan, etc. As it is these days, there's still a lot of dismissing any possibility that's not just gay or straight. "Red, White, and Royal Blue" and "Heartstopper" are rather impressive for having one of the main couple characters be Bi. That said, it's hypocritical for Ross to worry about Emily cheating on him with Susan, when he was totally okay with Emily cheating on Colin for two weeks with him. Emily is a cheater, but since she picked Ross, it's considered okay.
