EXACTLY! Even though the words Father and Dad (So much so as Mother and Mom) have the same meanings in the dictionary, one can be you Father (biologically/factually), a title of “Dad” is earned. If you look along the wall of Dekus entranceway in the row of poorly drawn family photos Hisashi (Izuku’s father) eventually just stops showing up in them; Obviously something happened, wether it be divorce, work obsession, death or the Ol’Darth Vader story line it’s clear he’s no longer in the Picture. Taking in account that Horikoshi is a really big fan of star wars, I’ve been thinking that maybe Izuku’s dad will end up being some kind of Darth Vader. With this I don’t mean that he will look like Darth Vader (we have all for one for that), but that he abandoned the side of the light due to something and Izuku will have to face him at some point in the story

In short ... people wants to give Izuku a Dad that is actually present! By the way ... I still want Horikoshi to make so Izuku's father is the protag form the Pilot. And he happens to be introduced as someone that will grant Deku access to equipment (turning him more present on the manga). (Extra points: if Hatsume get's something like a internship in his company, and this gives me more Mei)

I would really reaaallllyyyy laugh hard if AFO turned out to be his father. Given everything we know so far, it makes sense, and it would make one hell of a plot twist. It also makes it quite fitting for All Might to be with Izukus mother, since AFO is his nemesis and all, and Inko was his wife, and given the absence and probably heartbreak she suffered with him being gone on "business" trips, All Might taking that spot where AFO should be as the father just fits like an ironic little puzzle piece. I really like this theory, and gives the story a better more interesting story. I hope Hirokoshi does it like this, or at the very least has Izukus dad related to AFO in some way, like a henchmen or so if he isn't AFO himself.

Tbh, Deku's dad's name is Hizashi Midoriya. But I really believe that Hizashi changed his name to "???? Shigaraki" to maybe disguise himself? I also believe he lied to Inko that he went to "America" for "business". I also saw that in the battle between Almight and AFO, All for one spit out abit of fire, the quirk Hizashi Midoriya has. It would also be hilarious, and kinda sad for Almight. Realising he has been protecting his nemesis's son. He is raising the son of the person who killed his master. I know this comment is kinda dumb and random but I guess I'm just speaking my mind. But at least tried to use ten of my brain cells. Damn, that's the most brain cells I've used in a while. Meaning that as long as All might doesn't die soon;perhaps him and Inko could have a relationship, and eventually maybe a marriage. We could have a flash forward to young adult hero Deku at the end of the series.And see All might/Inko married with a little blonde haired baby sister that looks up to big brother.

I think the villainization of Deku's dad is a pretty fair point since we don't see him AT ALL. Where was he when his son got accepted into Japan's most prestiguous hero school? Or when he was working his body off? Or when he broke his hands? All we see is Inko getting really worried, but we don't even see his dad comforting Inko! I think this is deliberate, as this IS our main protag's family. Especially with a non-biological father figure present, if he cared at least a little bit, we would have seen him be protective of Deku or confront somebody. Maybe meet Allmight or at the very least, leave a message about taking care of his child? Perhaps ask his own son what's happening? That's a pretty big aspect of being a hero too, isn't it? Worrying your parents due to your dangerous line of work?

He might have left the family to work abroad to get away from Izuku because Izuku was quirkless and because quirkless people are seen as useless or weak, or even less than human by society. so he might not want to associate with a person who "who is less human".

I want Deku's dad to be as normal as possible for the reveal. Everyone is hyping things up with basically no evidence, and to find out Deku's dad is a normal business man that just so happens to have fire breath would be kind of funny.

I agree. Everyone needs to stop making accusations and assumptions about hisashi’s relationship with his family. Especially with no proof. It wasn’t mentioned in the show or manga yet I’m not going to judge. We don’t know the truth yet. They don’t have to show everything the characters do. (Like go to the bathroom, or do their taxes.) Honestly, I would probably ship them together but she’s MARRIED. Heroes don’t condone infidelity. Especially when your the symbol of peace and justice. Plus all might is too probably busy, and his profession is too dangerous that he probably decided not to have a family? I don’t know. He’s 49 now.

If you guys look in the My Hero Academia wiki, you can see that Izuku's father is a man named Hisashi, that works abroad: his status is unknown, so we can't really say if he is dead or not. Also, it is known that he has some sort of fire quirk. He never appeared, but was mentioned.

In EP 12 in Season 3 All Might told Deku "From here on out, I devote myself to raising you." That's what he said in the sub, and that's another reason why All Might is a good father figure. He also was there for Deku in the hospital and he cared for Deku.

Deku's dad gets crap for sacrificing his time and energy away from his family, working hard so they can have that house and people make him out to be a villain. That's not cash money of them. I'd like a ship of Kaminari/Ashido. They're at the bottom of class in grades and get along. Wouldn't be hard to do them as a couple. Kaminari has more screen time with her in the present than Kirishima did in the past. It can work.

Hizashi can't even be called a husband or father at this point because he's not in the family pictures, he doesn't frequently contact them, etc. You'd think if his SON got into the top Hero school in the COUNTRY that he'd call his son to congratulate him. You'd think if his SON was injured in a villain attack, he'd at least CALL if not visit him. But he HASN'T. It's one thing to say that his father just works abroad, but even Carly and Spencer's dad called them often!! I fully believe that there are 3 possibilities: 1- Hizashi *did* go to work abroad, but he died and Inko couldn't bring herself to tell Izuku because he was already having emotional trouble being bullied and having no Quirk. 2- Hizashi *did* go abroad for work, but he cheated on Inko/divorced her and decided to stay in America. Again, Inko couldn't bring herself to tell Izuku because he was already having emotional trouble being bullied and having no Quirk, so she continued the story of 'he's just working overseas.' 3- Inko and Hizashi were never married to begin with, and were only dating. When she got pregnant out of wedlock, he left her. She was so distraught and there is so much stigma against single mothers (especially in Japan), that she made up the story about Izuku's dad working overseas and maintaining that she's just a 'normal married woman whose husband is gone for work' Now, because Horikoshi loves star wars so much, there's also the possibility that AFO *is* actually Hizashi. If he can swap bodies Orochimaru-style, then there's no reason why he couldn't have knocked Inko up after getting into a younger body under the name 'Hizashi'. Now, there's also the question of why AFO would have ever slept with Inko anyway. I mean, sure she was super pretty, BUT this is AFO we're talking about. He probably isn't interested in s*x or creating children unless he's directly planning on using those people. So, I don't really think it's that likely that AFO is Izuku's dad, but the Star Wars is strong with BNHA so idk. No matter the reason, Hizashi in my opinion is no longer a legitimate husband or father, as he doesn't seem to care enough about his son to check in on him when his school is attacked by villains (or if there is a war). Who is there? All Might. Who does he call when he's got good news and is happy? All Might. Who did Inko entrust to literally RAISE HER SON? All Might. Case closed.

I think that “vilification” is the word you’re looking for :P and it’s not necessarily vilifying Hisashi as much as it’s seeing the void left in Izuku’s life by his father being away, and therefore, the void in Inko’s life leaving her to only have her son to practically obsess over his wellbeing, in turn, hurting her own. Whereas because Izuku is then given the chance to be any kind of close to his idol and he becomes his mentor, naturally it makes sense that he’d see him as a father figure.

I'm convinced Deku's father is some deadbeat who abandoned his family and/or maybe he died before Izuku was old enough to even remember he had a dad. For some reason though, I'm leaning towards the former. Also I think it would be good for All Might to be an adopted father to Izuku. Deku will finally have a father figure that was missing most of his life and All Might's bond with Izuku will strengthen more especially since Izuku will become his kid compared to All Might's other relations to kids which could be summed up as an idol or a mentor. Add father status into the mix for Izuku is good for both parties growth. Edit: Saw the end of the video... He ain't dead. Interesting... Also slight adjustment to the previous statement. Deadbeat seems too in line with the Todoroki dynamic with endeavor so maybe with Deku, it was a mutual divorce? I feel like that may kind of work better?

I like so much the dynamic between these two along with Izuku because they look so cute like a family, and talking about Izuku's dad entry into scene and knowing that Horikoshi is a big fan of Star Wars my theory is that Izuku's dad will may be against Izuku's dream of being a Hero and being all rude like "You can't be a Hero, you didn't even had a quirk before you were just lucky that you get one" but in the end he's only worry about Izuku getting seriously hurt or something, because I don't want to believe he will be mean to Izuku just because, or he might even be indifferent towards Izuku and that will be worst I think, also I like the theory that Izuku's dad would be jealous of All Might relationship with Deku and will try to prove he is "The Best dad" and being all nosy around Deku and All might and even treat Izuku as a child because of all the time he wasn't there for him until Izuku explodes and tell him to stop doing that or get super mad at him, I would like to see that, Izuku yelling at his father for never being around and leaving him and his mother alone, I dunno, I just think that's something Horikoshi can explore in Deku's character

I think one reason to pursue a relationship with all might is to reward him for what he did for her son. She would say..."I hardly had any friends who did not have a desire to be filled with his children. He has protected us for decades and yet not one whisper of a significant other. Most of my old friends would drop their jaws when they learn he is in love with me...ME...of all women! It is still hard to believe that at the end of every hero work her returns to some cheep apartment with very little to look at. If he gets me pregnant I would take a picture of myself and send it to my friends saying 'Guess who beat you'. The only problem here is Deku's father, whom the author said is alive and well. He lives outside Japan and lives into another country for work. So Inko had to raise Izuku alone. Seems like they might saw him really few times or never all these years. If he comes back even for little time... there must be a serious reason behind it. So I guess something big will happen. Still I ship Toshinko and I hope they will have more time together. They all deserves happiness

To be far his father could be a good guy just working super hard for his son to go to the most prestigious and most expensive school in the country. One scene with him in his office working listening to the recording of the Sports Festival "WINNER IZUKU MIDORIYA!!!". Showing he is doing it for him. Maybe having letters all over his wall.Think like Simpsons "Do it for her" scene. Then there is conflict. Then it isn't so easy to make him 'the bad guy'

This one doesn’t really exist but lately I’ve been thinking that a ship between Sato and Tsuyu would be interesting. Even though Sato has almost no development I think an interesting dynamic could exist between them. They seem to share a theme of being pretty straightforward in their Quirks and the way they seem to “call it like it is” (more often in Tsuyu’s case). They also both know how to cook. We also see from Tsuyu’s internship that she likes really buff guys like Pro Hero Selkie They could be a good match up in battle too, with Tsuyu’s well-rounded-ness and ability to provide strategy to compensate for Sato’s diminished brain functions and berserk and Sato providing tremendous physical power to make up for Tsuyu’s small size and vulnerability to getting outmatched in terms of brute force.
