Most of the other KZbin Tips & Tricks video publishers would have easily spent 15 minutes covering the same suggestions you just rolled out in just two. Right to the point. Thank you.

I really love that tilt in zoom thing you do! I have seen it many times in many forms, and just like last time you showed us, I am still amazed at that super wide angle tilt. Very cool effect!

There is a huge difference in quality between cheap/amateur/prosumer/pro sets. As for specific models, it really depends on your shooting style and what gear you are going to put on it.

I know, this video's intention was probably not the one to be necessarily funny by any means, and yet it just kept me smiling b/c those actually quite simple tricks seem so playful but at the same time produce those one of a kind "Matt's-like" shots that we all do admire :)

A lot of people have been asking that recently. I should probably start putting it in the description. I usually use Typograph Pro and Bebas Neue.

It's called tilt-shift. If you're shooting with a DLSR you can take the lens off and hold it. As you hold it you can move it up and down and it will change the focal point. This achieves the effect. If you want to do it in post you can just add blur to the top and bottom of the frame with whatever program you're using. Its pretty simple. Look up "tilt-shift" and "miniature effect" - you can find a million resources. Good luck!

The "tripod rocking" can be done even more easily with a monopod. I have a cheap Slik monopod with a tilt head that allows me to do Jib like shots. It's also great if you want to get some low angle footage, either moving or stationary: just flip the whole thing upside down and rotate the footage in post.

Fantastic tips as always Matt. My tripod is too crappy to do any panning (I need to get a fluid head) but that last tip you showed will definitely come in handy for a couple of gaming hardware reviews I've got planned. Thanks!

Not only that, but the build quality varies greatly as well as the weight. Buying a $50 tripod from BestBuy is not a great investment, as the pieces are made of cheap plastic that will break if you use the tripod often. Most nice tripods that you purchase will come as a pre-assembled kit, so you may not really realize that it's two separate parts.

Are you looking for like a miniature effect? You can get something like that by just blurring the top and bottom of the screen slightly and it looks like you're zooming in on scale models and stuff.

You would be better off saving up for something decent. If you get a $20-50 tripod, you will very likely be buying another one in the near future as the parts break easily. Also, the cheap ones do not have fluid heads, which means any movement is going to be very jerky. Even the elastic trick won't help on those tripods. One exception might be if you plan on putting the tripod in one spot and never really moving it.

I think I would composite the footage of the girl onto the footage you want. Then add a slight blur to the top of the screen and the bottom of the screen. It would make her look small. (DSLR is a type of camera you do not have.) Use Google to find how to do all these things. Get creative and don't worry because its mostly trial and error.
