i actually flew once on this Asky Airlines from lagos to freetown as an asian working in africa. Ethiopian Airlines really did an amazing job by connecting the whole africa to the world with its various routes to so many remote and under-developed africa countries. i bought my colleague a two connect flight from freetown-accra-addis abba-lubumbashi with one asky flights and two ethiopian flights.

I flew Asky from Accra, Ghana to Johannesburg South Africa with transit at Lome Togo earlier this year, it was a nice experience but there was no entertaining system. But I loved it

arh felix great report as always ,just a couple of questions ,at 0.47sec when you showed the departures where was flight KP020 flying to ?we saw the time and gate but not destination lol ,secondly what a great airport kinshasa is if you love the old boeing 727 ,737 and 707 but is it also a "graveyard" for planes ?i think i saw 5 727's there looks like being broken up ,an,d finally i'd never heard of asky are the fare's expensive ?and as always you do the african vid's tell David what a beautiful continent it is and to do more trips like you !! lol stay safe both of you and hope to see a recent trip report in the near future

Nice review dear. Last year flew one of the shortest international flights.. Gulf Air DMM to BAH.. Though officially it's time was 25 mins but we landed in Bahrain 17 mins after taking off from Dammam

Many times, but the Congo River is mighty, several miles wide, very deep and with very strong currents (it's comparable to the Amazon River in that respect), so a bridge there would cost billions of dollars and would be too expensive for the budgets of two very poor countries. Additionally, they're both politically unstable (particularly the larger DR Congo) and their relations aren't always the best, so coordinating efforts and budgets would be difficult, and they aren't always too keen on making it easy to transit between them.

The fact that there is an air transport route that connects cities that are right next to each other is a very sad thing. It kind of shows that Africa needs to integrate more. A 15 minute flight is not worth it, even for a local flight. Just build a giant bridge connecting the 2 capitals and establish a good road transport system. If cooperation between African countries was good enough, the governments of the 2 Congo's would have decided to build a big airport terminal that serves both cities. I hope it happens in the future.
