I love Indonesian traditional architecture! It's so beautiful! And I love it that they used at least some of it in their airport terminals. Don't get me wrong, I find terminals such as Kansai, Madrid T4 or Changi beautiful, too, but it's always better when they pay tribute to the respective country's traditions and culture.

2 airports where the architecture is very traditional is Minangkabau International in Padang and Ngurah Rai International in Denpasar, the MinangkabauInternational having a "Rumah Gadang" (traditional minangkabau house) style architecture, and Ngurah Rai International having traditional Hindu style architecture.

Batik Air is currently ordering many airplanes, but the IFE company shut down due to bankruptcy. That's why newer Batik Air airplanes doesn't have IFE.

Batik Air's A320s with PK-LUx and PK-LZx series are not equipped with IFE due to bankruptcy of the IFE manufacturer. But for A320s with PK-LAx series are equipped with IFE. I'm not sure about the presence of IFE for their Boeing 737s, but from other comments they do have IFE on their Boeing 737s. Correct me if I'm wrong :)

Riyan Adipoetra nope . batik will stay using cfm engine in ceo instead newer engine in A20N . different engine will adding maintenance cost and replacement parts . then, if you flied with a20n and compared with a320 ceo, there is not too much difference . unlike boeing 737NG and 737MAX .

For IFE, actually batik offered IFE. But maybe because they haven't installed it yet because of high demand. For installation, they usually do it at batam

Batik Air / Malindo Air sit in-between full service airline (Garuda Indonesia) and low cost airline (Airasia). Their overall fares are much lower compared to Airasia (with baggage + meal included) and full service airline, if you able to grab their promo price. :) On certain route (especially international route), they do have IFE on-board. :)

In a new A320 they don't have a IFE but their Boeing Have a IFE. BTW: in indonesia We have to walk to the plane but if you arrive (only) in bali you gonna go to the terminal with a bus if full plane use the jedbridges

Another excellent trip report felix! I really wish batik mix their snack because they had the same snack for a year.... For the entertainment system,its too bad that you got the newer A320s that dont have the IFE.just FYI,Batik air's IFE is decent for a domestic flight around indonesia,their selection is okay and their screen is actually better than garuda.. P.S do you have time to explore surabaya? Is it great? I love your indonesian greeting btw..

The reason not all of their A320 have IFE is the supplier went Bankrupt. They've found another one and soon going to retrofit all the A320s to have IFE. All of their Boeing 737s have IFE

i fly from jakarta to jambi with batik air and there are IFES here but i thought there will be in your video XD

Actually all of their 737s is equipped with IFE, while only some of their A320's is equipped with IFE because the IFE vendor was bankrupt. But now all the aircrafts without IFE is being installed with Zodiac IFE (even better than the Panasonic) . Previously their 1st batch 737 is equipped with Panasonic IFE, while the rest is Lumexis (the bankrupt one).
