I think Wizzair is quite OK for short-haul flights in Europe. And their fares are really competitive in comparison to legacy carriers. But spending 5 hours aboard Wizzair doesn't sound very appealing. Actually, I am surprised to see there is such high demand for their flights to Saudi Arabia.

I recently flew from Abu Dhabi to the Maldives onboard a Wizzair A321neo, which was 5 hours and a bit. Also a very new one. Only 2 years old. It was my first flight with the airline and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Not that I expected it to be bad, because I usually like flying Ryanair on their European routes, but you never know with these low cost carriers. I don’t mind checking in online, and when I’m not having any checked baggage I actually prefer it and just walk straight to the gate. My last flight with Ryanair was from Aarhus, Denmark to Gdansk in Poland. They started boarding before the plane had even arrived and everyone flocked to the gate, which I found quite funny. After 10 minutes or so the plane arrived. Right when the passangers got off the plane they made final call, and a few minutes later we were airborne. Some probably dislike it. I like that they aren’t hanging about. I paid 46 euros including checked baggage and seat selection. The seats on the Wizzair flight was acceptable. I’m 186 cm tall and it wasn’t that bad. Not super comfortable, but not awful. However, on all AirAsia flights I’ve been on, my knees have been dying. Can’t recommend! I don’t care much for onboard WiFi, never works well anyways. And the lack of entertainment system is of course not a problem on the short flights, and for longer flights I just download some movies on my phone or laptop and watch that. I love when the seats don’t recline, because that means I won’t get crushed by the person in front of me. For 20 years I didn’t even know how the reclining worked so I’ve never used it anyways. In my opinion, no legacy carrier offering compares to that of Ryanair and other low cost airlines. Only if I was so rich, that money didn’t matter to me would I fly on legacy carriers instead. Also, if you somehow made it this far you probably know something about planes. On my flight from Abu Dhabi to the Maldives we flew straight east for sometime, and when we reached India we turned south towards the Maldives. This seems odd to me, and I wasn’t able to figure out why that is the chosen route.

I've flown with Wizz Air a couple of times before between northern Norway and Gdansk (which is about a 3 hour flight) and always tell myself "You get what you pay for" as with anything in this world, I don't get a cheap flight and expect a 5 star service or experience, but I can honestly say that I have nothing to complain about. It's pretty much as flying any other SAS or Norwegian flight as well except the I find both the food and prices for food and or snacks to be better on Wizz Air compared to those other 2 airlines. Also never had any issues with anything flying them, no delays yet and just friendly crew so I'll gladly fly them again and I'd much rather fly with them than SAS for example even if it means a detour. (I've had to fly with Wizz to get home to southern Sweden from northern Norway during Christmas once as SAS had pushed up their prices to be around the double as a flight to Gdansk, I could then stay the night at a hotel in the old town of Gdansk, catch the ferry from Gdynia to Sweden the day after and even have a dinner buffet on the ferry (could even opt for the second most expensive cabin on the ferry if I wanted) and it was still cheaper than the SAS flight from northern Norway to Sweden via 2 stopovers)

I tried Wizzair for 5:30 hours thats turn to 7 hours flight, but surprisely, I felt as comfortable as I was in Qatar airways 8 hours flight... Cabin crew were amazing they give me the whole raw for myself, free blanket and toothpaste... they were the best it was my first time and definitely not my last time!

Blanket and toothpaste on Wizzair flight? Since when they offer these?! And free?! Don't believe this, sorry.

I just flew with Wizzair from London (Luton) to Amman in Jordan which was about 5 1/2 hours. It was wasn't at all bad and quite comfortable.

Wizz air is quite good value for short flights within Europe, although i definitely prefer Ryan air more.

My Wizzair flight from Rome to Madrid was delayed over 16 hours. The communication was terrible, but we did at least get a hotel for the night. And 250 euros compensation, thanks to EU regulations. Safe to say I will probably never fly with them again 🙃

I fly from UK to Poland very frequently, I pay as little as £8.99 one way a lot of the time… you can’t complain when a 2.5 hour flight is as cheap as that…

I flew the Venice to Jeddah route return a few weeks ago and much of the same experience, for the price it was a no brainer, what I can say though is that my partner and I also had the pasta carbonara, and while we're used to instant meals and cheap artificial food, that pasta was the most disgusting thing we had ever tasted! You must have a stomach of steel, but flying with easyjet and wizz air from Manchester to Jeddah cost us about £300 each when the Saudia direct flight for the same dates was £1000+ each, I'd defininitely prefer the cheaper option a put up with a few hours of discomfort.

3:15 Yeah I had booked a return flight on the new Wizz Air routes for just 30€ (incredible value for money) but had to cancel because I didn't realized the crazy visa fees Saudi Arabia take from us....
@user-wq9mw2xz3j Жыл бұрын
yeah it's like $140 for a Visa. including health insurance though

I’m 193cm tall. Even a 1 hour flight on a British Airways A320neo is horrible. I sit all the way in the back of the seat and my legs will still touch the seat in front of me. Ain’t no way I’d manage to get through a 5 hour Wizzair flight.

I flew on Air Asia X a few weeks ago from Bangkok to Melbourne, 9 hours of essentially the same type of product no IFE and cramped leg room, only cost $200 though... was it worth it? Absolutely not

And that is - at last - also a brutally honest reply. It is not OK, it is not good compared with the price. It is bad, horrible.

The seats for the crew should not appear when one makes an online booking for the seats. Also the type of craft used. If there is last minute changes, it is not ok if you don't get the seat you booked. It is cheating if you don't get what you booked.

I'm not sure why you would fly to Dammam unless it was for work 🤔
