Your right, he has slowed his song tempo with age. But as a general metal music law, i think that as age increased, tempo speed drop. There are exceptions but i think few bands put the energy it takes to compose with your old teenage mindset and aggressiveness. I’m 47 and in all my heavy metal loving life there are a lot of band that deceived me with each new releases. The problem was that as time goes by i was listening to more and more aggressive stuff and, to my dismay, every band i learn to loved were getting a little bit slower with each release. But apart from some exceptions, this is the way life goes on i’m afraid. Took me a few years to figure it out but now i now i will never slow the max tempo i can listen too. It can just go up. Metal is a progressive learning curb.
