"Inis Mona is the name of an isle. Modern science assumes that the ancient Inis Mona is today's Isle of Anglesey (in welsh still names Ynys Môn), in the north of Wales. On Inis Monda the most relevant druid college of the Celtic world was established. Celtic trives from all over Europe sent their youth to that isle, so that they could enjoy the highest druidic education - which could take 20 years, by the way! - before they returned to their home countries and tribes to serve there as druids. Being a druid was one of the most important, honourable, responsible, esteemed, and maybe also most difficult professions in the Celtic culture, being actually much more than just a profession, rather to be described as a lifestyle, a vocation, a destiny. However, our song deals with an old and reputable gaulish druid in the eve of his life, looking back and pondering over his life and days long gone. Most of his life was spent in service as a wise counsellor, lawyer, scientist, teacher, doctor, physician - in other words: As druid at his clan's chieftan's court. Being content with that, he secretly still thinks back and moons over the years of his youth, which he spent on Inis Mona during his education. Years that have formed his life forever..."

And home to probably the largest human sacrifice that took place in the British Isles... A Roman invasion force was met on it's beach by something like 4000 druids, warriors, women and children standing on something flammable. They were cut down by the Romans but according to the Roman historian Dio one of the druids threw a torch at the flammable material burning everyone standing on it... The superstitious Romans were scared shitless... Apparently after this little incident Boudica's revolt began...

That it is, apparently! I thought that was a joke first tbh haha In Welsh, that's spelled Ynys Môn according to Wikipedia, is located in ceremonial Gwynedd, and is a modern constituency. I used to listen to this song and the band heavily back in college, alone while having a smoke outside the gates of my campus. Now, after 3 years, I listen to this in the pandemic, alone in my room, unemployed, nostalgic, kinda drunk. Mostly, nostalgia is a very painful feeling for me but this song and the memories around it are weirdly giving me hope,. I feel youthful all over again (feels weird saying this while being 26) *sigh* Love from India!

i never liked metal at all , but YOU GUYS , ELUVEITIE made me fall in love with it , i REALLY respect and love you . It's sad to hear that Anna Ivo and Merlin will leave , i'm sorry to hear that , i almost cried when heard the news , i wish them all the best and so to the remaining band I LOVE YOU GUYS
@blaynegreiner93652 жыл бұрын
We got a much better Eluveitie and a whole different band out of it so it was for the best. I definitely don't like Cellar Darling as well as Eluveitie but they aren't bad. And hey, if Ivo and Qna can put up with Merlin's drinking more power to them.

Ah non mais je sais que c'est pas un plagiat ! Et je sais que Manau à chanté avec eux. Juste que quand j'entends cette mélodie, je pense tout de suite à la Vallée de Dana xD

Well, technically, it's not really their song... at first, the main theme is from the song "Tri Martolod".
