I was way more involved in this back in 2018, and it's been a long time since I've even thought about it. For that reason, I actually forgot how many details there were and how much evidence there was against Timothy's claims. The full statement Melanie said was "She never said 'no' to what we chose to do together". People want to take the statement out of context. Melanie probably wanted to point out the usage of the word 'no' because of how much Timothy claimed using the word 'no'. I've heard that the story was the two of them were both high and were intimate together. They were both high it'd be the same if they were both drunk. Technically they couldn't have both consented if they were intoxicated. This happened nearly a decade ago and only the two of them know what happened that night. People want to be on the right side of this narrative because of their own self righteousness rather than using logic. Timothy did not deserve the harassment but there is nothing wrong with using critical thinking. Its not victim blaming to put certain details into question. People are only seeing this situation as black and white when there is much more to the story than we will ever know.

I agree with you saying a lot of people think too much in black-and-white. What a lot of people don’t understand is sadly often to not, nonconsensual situations are very common amongst intoxicated young people. I sure as fuck have had my fair share of situations and I don’t hate those people or have anger towards them, they are just not in my life anymore. I definitely believe that the intimacy between the two of them did happen, but it seems way too complicated of a situation to just frame it as Melanie being a full on predator. I’m pretty neutral about the situation and I’m not sure if Melanie is ever going to come out with a statement, But I wish people could actually think about the situation critically. Sometimes people make really huge mistakes in their youth. I’m not excusing what it causes but I’m just saying it happens a lot.

According to Timothy, consent wasn't given. According to Melanie, she would never be intimate with someone without their "absolute" consent. You weren't there, so it's Melanie's word against Timothy's. No one *knows* exactly what happened, but there's a lot more evidence against Timothy than Melanie, so until we actually do know for sure, which will likely never happen unless new evidence comes to light or someone admits to lying, it's best not to judge and attack anyone involved. The whole "believe victims" thing should be more about supporting the victim than attacking the alleged abuser anyway.

This was a great video! I also want to remind people that when Timothy first came out with this story she had pinned I think a music video or audio, the same day or close to the same day as her first statement. I also want to point out just cuz you regret sleeping with someone does not always make it rape or sa. Also the misquote pisses me off too because she said, “she never said no to what we CHOSE to do TOGETHER.” Last thing, I really hope Melanie makes another statement. Maybe a video where she can share more about her side of the story and maybe proof that she has. If not, at least in an interview with idk Swoop or other interviewers. Idk. Staying silent makes her look bad but I also understand not wanting to give people things to pick a part at but I just feel with such a serious allegation, I would at least want to clear my name if I was innocent.

For you to immediately jump to conclusions without knowing the people involved personally or what is going on is part of the reason why we still don't have a clear answer bc there's so much fake evidence and false reports to go through and sort out. You think you are helping when you blindy jump to defend or condem a person that YOU DONT ACTUALLY KNOW but all you're doing is prolonging the truth from coming out. Melanie once did try to tell her fans to stop harassing an ex of hers, Oliver Tree, saying they ended things on good terms, but that didn't stop them. If anything, it made it worse. Artists don't really have the power to call off their fans, and sometimes by attempting to do so, they're only making more people aware of the controversies. In her original statement, she said she was sending Timothy "love and light always" and somehow her fans didn't take this as a sign to leave her be.

So as far as the dates, what Timothy did was out of spite was show us a screen recording of her iCloud. In that iCloud video that she has since deleted, she scrolled through the iCloud photos and it specifically where it shows the date at the top. And she decided to say that the photo of her with green hair is the incorrect date in the photos of Melanie are the incorrect date but the rest of everything else in her iCloud was correct. She told the truth about that in the iCloud were correct because someone did a deep dive and compared her iCloud dates and photos to her Instagram and all of the photos are correct. But she’s only claiming that the Melanie photos are in the wrong place but everything else on her iCloud is correct. While I do not believe that it was OK for her to be bullied off the Internet in the fashion that she was bullied off the Internet. And we have to admit Melanie is not perfect. She is a human being and maybe she was a bad friend to Timothy at the end but somebody’s been a bad friend to other people before it’s not the end of the world.

I can confidently tell you that Melanie is not a rapist, regardless of whatever took place between her and Timothy that night. Melanie does understand consent and does try to be a good person. She tries to make people's lives better, and that has a consistent track record. Whatever happened that night, it was definitely not outright rape. It's safe to just let it be their business and continue listening to the music you like. I've heard her concerts are fun, so go and have a good time in October. It's fine.
