That first woman was probably a paid actress. Speaking from experience as someone who has tried out for American idol and has seen behind the scenes of how they stage things. Honestly a lot of these bad auditions are probably paid actors. Which would explain why they feel UNREAL
@annabellematice5163
@annabellematice5163 5 жыл бұрын
@rene ruiz when I auditioned if someone made it, they would walk them back to where everyone was in line and pose them in line to get shots of them "waiting to audition" and they would tell them what to say and put who they wanted around them and made sure no logos were showing. Camera men would come by while you waited and tell you things to say, pick loud people out of line and interview them. When you audition you audition 3 at a time in front of a random judge who is not famous. The famous judges are not there. That part is just for TV. They dont ask you to do a different song. They dont tell you why they dont like you. You walk up 3 at a time, they point at you and you sing, then you walk away unless they like you. I auditioned in Atlanta. In August (on my bday August 22nd in 2017) it was in a park outside. It basically took all day. You can have people wait in line with you, but anyone not auditioning gets sent very far away. My husband was told to gi sit on a hill with other spouses friends and parents. He said he could barely see me. I found out that day that you could audition online beforehand, and if they like you they will ask you to come at an specific time and film you waiting in line (even though they had an appointment and didn't wait) and then audition you. There were hundreds of people there. Some people dressed and acted ridiculously. I was in line a few people behind a very loud obnoxious girl who couldn't sing. She was filmed a few times. I think she was a paid actress.

it really irritates me when non-musicians who don't sing think they can comment on someone "not having their voice together." Yes, i am talking about simon. I don't care how much money he is worth or how long he has been in the industry, he is a money and power hungry person who doesn't know a thing about being a musician apart from earning money. He had no right to stop the audition when it was going well because it "wasn't the right style" It hurt me to see her so upset. She didnt need that

I think American Idol doesn't always know how to spot potential. I have read about several celebrities who was turned down by American Idol judges or didn't make it in front of the judges at all who are amazing. Amber Riley who was on Glee and did Broadway was rejected, so was Naya Rivera from Glee, Hillary Scott from Lady Antebellum and so was Tori Kelly. Clearly American Idol doesn't always recognize talent when it's right in front of them.

That is true! Look at Chris Daughtry, Simon said NO to him. I remember watching that live, thinking WTFF?!?!?!?!? He still made it through but didn't win. He finished 7th, I think. The band Fuel, actually asked him to be their frontman. To which he turned down and created his own band. People like Adam Lambert and James Durbin are prime examples too. They had amazing voices but didn't win. They still get hate and people saying, JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN SING HIGH NOTES DOESN'T MEAN YOU CAN SING. Which is BS, because we know they can. They should have won, yet they got robbed. James losing to someone who FORGOT the lyrics. Which usually sends you home. It's sent so many amazing singers home but not that time. Thankfully now, they're both frontmen of amazing bands. Adam with Queen and James is in Quiet Riot now. Where are the winners? Who knows, they fell of the map years ago. Main reason I stopped watching the show, it's totally rigged.

Not anymore. On America's Got Talent he is nicer than he was on American Idol. I remember on American Idol , he forgot that his mike was on and he said after a contestant had just made it through to Hollywood "We are going to need a bigger stage". The woman who had sent through the next round was overweight but she had an amazing voice. If I remember correctly, the woman heard what Simon said. She ended up forgiving him. She didn't win the show but she is now a famous gospel singer. Her name is Mandisa. The next season he was much nicer to contestants who were overweight.

American idol, then and now is centered around views.. I was going to audition for them here in August but the rules are insane and if you read about it, it’s crazy. You can be the best singer and not go through, you can be the worst singer and make it to the live shows. Before you even make it onto the tv screen, you have 4/5 auditions and they’re in front of the producers not the celebrity judges

The thing is, people have to understand that shows like American Idol are catered for ratings and ENTERTAINMENT, not talent. If talent is the only barometer for singing in American Idol, Tori Kelly would have either won the show long ago or at least gone quite far. At least Tori Kelly succeeded way more than many contestants on these shows and even collaborated with Jacob Collier. That is a true testament of her great singing ability - someone in the class of Collier would not want to collaborate with mediocre singers :P

Chantal Prins but like Gordon makes comments though, like reasonable complaints. “It’s raw, it’s undercooked” he’s harsh but at least he has some type of feedback. Simon just says “you’re bad because you’re bad” I still love him but like he doesn’t give feedback

1st one pissed me off. A respectful, beautiful person who just came on the show looking for experience? I've seen these judges be nicer to people that are rude and disrespectful. Wow.

She got experience on the show twice before in previous seasons. She didn’t make it that far either time. And here she was trying to get on the show yet again. That’s why they didn’t let her through, not because she was bad.
