It was just a simple job, build a 40x60 shop pad. No problem I said. Wow, and then the ground fell out from under me, several times. I guess a fella should know to let the ground dry up. But, NAH, that wouldn’t be near as much fun…

My dump and excavator are about half the size of yours, but have similar problems. I like to keep road tread on my rear tires cause atleast when it gets stuck it doesn't dig a deep hole which makes it more aggravating to get out. I have found that the majority of the time i get stuck cause the front axle is the one that has sunk. Wider tires up front that float are more beneficial than big cleated rear tires.
@tristardiggin

Those tires make sense. It sure is a pain to get stuck. I don't mind it so much if I have a machine there to get me out. What is bad is when you are stuck and no way to get out or get home. 😫 But we just have to keep going...

I don't care if it's concrete I was drifting going down his drive to get out. No way I was backing in fully loaded. Oh dear oh dear, sorry for laughing Sam. When you get bogged, your reaction makes me laugh. But that is a huge heavy truck even without a load. Yaaay! Smith Worx called the compactor, sheep`s feet. Dad wasn`t winding me up! Making a road was bigger than the original job. Diesel must be worn out at the end of the day, he never stops. This is a lot of work for a shed. Thank you for todays message, it`s good to know all our travails are to make us stronger, I think I knew that, but it is nice to have it confirmed. Blessings from Oz p.s. that man had grits for brekky. Whar are grits? It sounds like chook food.

What a mess, what a mess, what a mess! I just finished editing part 2 of this job and it is a "corker". Stuck and more stuck! "Sheeps foot" is a common name for this type packer, also called a pad foot roller. Diesel is wide open all day long. Wish I had his energy. Yes, our travails are to make us stronger, trusting the Lord to see us through. Not chook food (and yes, I had to Google what a chook was from you other comment). Grits is a southern US brekky food. I was laughing when you asked about grits. But, even northern US folks don't know what grits are as well as sweet tea. 😳😁 "Grits are made from ground corn, typically from less sweet, starchy varieties often referred to as dent corn. Grits can be made from either yellow or white corn" -Foodnetwork.com-

great video and message. (1John 5: 9-13 ) FYI The city has 30 Mack dump trucks. All but 10 are single axels. Currently we have four feet of snow on the ground and the city has hundreds of miles of cul du sacs to plow. These trucks are equipt with front plows, belly plows and wing plows. The tandums can not make the turns in the cudu sacs , however the single axels have no problems. However the two axels never get stuck and have a greater hauling capacity than the single axels.

Man I know how it is with a single axle dump truck. They don’t like mud. You can get stuck in wet grass just easy. Don’t worry bout them talking about your tires. It’s the way of it.
