What’s in the water looks like an oil slick.

Have you thought about restocking your pond and maybe put some kind of aeration in it, could be a cracking spot
@TriStarHomestead8 ай бұрын
Yes to both. Trying to find a place to ship some fish to me is tough. The ones that I found are way more expensive. Been trying to fish it more to see what’s in there before stocking too. Looking to get some soon though. As for aeration, we don’t have power out there for a pump and the solar powered ones are really expensive. It would be a huge help and looking to add it in the future just not sure which way I want to go. Maybe figure out how to make something myself.

Hi get a wormery going for you’re 🎣 fishing lol 😂 x

I have thought about that. Would be beneficial for fishing and for the garden. Maybe we will get that going soon.

The pond could be a nice little project after you move into the house, restock, bait fiah etc. Really nice to sit down on your own property and fish privately. Thw house is taking shape nicely. I am learning alot!

The pond is my background project. Can’t devote too much time to it but it’s nice to work on it here and there.
@verbalkint988 ай бұрын
@@TriStarHomestead and thats it my friend, keep it in the background. I usally have more than one thing going on at once also. I do the things that i dont like and in the background i put an hour n every now and again for the things i dont need immediately and enjoy doing. You will get there but you know yourself, having property means there is always something to be done. God bless.

From the looks of your pond all that oil on top maybe you need to drill for oil?
@TriStarHomestead8 ай бұрын
Unfortunately it is at a low spot. Get a lot of runoff. Working on ways to combat that and clean things up. When you buy run down land you get what you get I guess.

What are the advantages of cylindrical foundation peers and why did you choose that method?
@TriStarHomestead8 ай бұрын
Cost would be the major one. It’s a lot cheaper than a foundation wall or ICF. As for any other advantage, not sure if there is any.

Are you doing your own concrete or subing it out????
@TriStarHomestead8 ай бұрын
We will not be doing the pour. Most likely will do prep work but not the pour. It’s too much for two people with a baby and the concrete will be our finished floor surface inside the house.

are there traces of oil in the pond or what is in it `?
@TriStarHomestead6 ай бұрын
Not that I know of. From our research it is because the natural bacteria in the pond can’t keep up with decay and algae. The more we work the pond the better it should be.
