As someone who's been doing Defence Lab for the past 2.5 years Tritac has been really beneficial. With all self defence systems, the trainer throws in more of what he is familiar with and because of Matt's jujitsu background, I have picked up a lot on how to incorporate grappling within self defence. This flow series is great as it's almost like being in a class practicing specific techniques. Thanks a lot for releasing all this great (free) content. On a side note, I've been training martial arts for over 15 years and you can tell almost instantly if a trainer is any good and I have to say Matt is outstanding at what he does.

My new favorite combat channel. I'd love to see a video comparing/ contrasting side vs front kicks, looking at context via stance, distance, and what your opponent is giving you. I wish i lived near you guys. If you ever do a seminar please come to south East Michigan :)

Question - I've been practicing the Pankration front kick to the torso. But they (Jay Wong /You Tube) were teaching to use the heel of the foot instead of the ball of the foot like what your showing. What do you think?

Hi Zman.....if you are wearing boots or shoes then you will be unable to bring your toes back so you would deliver the kick using your heel....as if you were trying to kick open a door.....but if your barefoot like Matt in the video clip then you can lift your toes up and kick with the ball of your foot.....best regards, Stefano

Why don't you show them the defense against the front kick, which is fairly easy and will drop you to the ground in most situations? A front kick is a lousy setup for a double-leg in most circumstances. Learn to use your legs and your upper body first. You're no real coach.

For anyone training there, that ginger is a fake coach and you should get out of there. He's making up as he goes. That doesn't have to be bad, but in this case it is.

Wow, sounds you're a real expert... I'd LOVE to see some of your videos. But, in response: - I do show them the defense, it's just not in this video. - I encourage creativity in my students, martial arts is not ALWAYS about winning a self-defense situation or a street fight. - "Learn to use your legs and your upper body first".... ok. Thanks for tip - Well, I'm not your coach, and I'm ok with that.
