Replacing our nearly 15 year old screen house that had attached wind/rain screens. Got a lot of use out of it until high winds took the life out of it. Been studying Gazelle versus Clam products. I settled on the Gazelle G6 Deluxe about 1. 5 years ago. Went to purchase it from my wish list and it’s no longer available. So, I’ve had to go with the Clam Pavilion with attached wind/rain screens, much like the Gazelle. I’m so impressed by how well your Gazelle held up to 3 days of rain. I’m not sure the Clam will but will give it a try.

Nice looking set up. Throw tarp on the ground, couple of cots bingo instant tent as well. Good place for kids or grandkids for overnight. Thanks for video on this .

We have the original G6, with the wind panels. I would have bought this Deluxe had it been available 3 years ago. Here's why- The original with wind panels works great EXCEPT when the wind is over maybe 40mph and/or a heavy downpour. My experience has shown that the velcro wind panels actually act as sails in high wind and kind of self-destruct. In a heavy downpour, water finds its way through the cracks. Our way of using our Gazelle is by watching the weather. High winds over 35 and we'll drop the tent and pile lawn chairs, etc on the remains. We've also found that the original Gazelle can handle wind better without the wind panels - again, no sail effect. On balance though, we have really enjoyed our original but always said, "if they mad this with full time covers/with zippers, and maybe even a cooling fly of sorts, I would be all in. So, I guess I'll have to save my pennies and get the new model. BTW- Wife and I are not full timers but do spend a lot of time in RV parks and state parks. Thanks for the great review!!

End of camping season so I was watching Wendy's camp kitchen video a week or so ago. I already ordered a few of the knives. After watching the video again, I ordered a Sidio crate and a water pump that came in this week. Just yesterday I picked up a barely used Camp Chef Everest stove for $50. So, I'm ready for next year. Thanks for all your great videos!

Anchor down every where you can. These things fly better than my airplane. Wish it had a floor like the tents. New version does. Newer version also has a ventilated roof. Standing up in a South Carolina summer will take your breath away.

I just bought the G6 Cool Top. For that exact reason…Georgia summers. Set it up for the first time tonight. It’s heavy and awkward to carry by myself. Once it set up its great, but the breakdown and getting it back in the bag is a huge undertaking for me.

Are you still loving it? We had an ARB style awning with zip in room and twice this summer it collapsed with just a little rain, even with the corners lowered. One of the extension poles bent beyond repair. I need to move away from the flat tops that let water pool. Had looked at the Clam Pavillion, but found your other review of it, and while the gazelle had some QC issues in the past when I tried one of their tents, I might give it another chance. Does the ground stay dry? That is a concern, especially for my wife. She's not a big fan of critters getting in. Especially snakes. I know they have a footprint, but that doesn't seal, right?
@MWDAdventures Жыл бұрын
We have used this gazebo in the rain multiple times and the ground stays dry inside. As for preventing critters - I don't know if there is a 100% guarantee from any product for that - but we have not had critters get inside if we zip the front closed when we are gone.

@@MWDAdventures Wanted to let you know, we got the Gazelle. I've only set it up once and noticed there was a D ring missing. I wrote to Gazelle / Ardisiam about it and they said because it was sewn in, I'd have to field destroy it, take photos of it and then they'd send me a new one. I replied I thought that was a bit excessive for a D ring so they gave me a $50 refund. Overall very happy with everything and looking forward to using it this summer.

Just was registering my Eskimo QuickFish 3i ice fishing shelter and looking at all the products that Ardisam has under it's wings. These Gazelle pop up shelters are just Eskimo ice shacks in brown really, but how cool! We need a new pop up shelter for camping and this might be the way to go rather than the regular pop up EZ Up type things!

Can you have it over your teardrop and also have a way to go in and out?
@louisperich66785 ай бұрын
$579…and sold out on Gazelle’s website as of this writing. Before I invest, would you please share your experience with if it traps heat like folks report the regular G6 does? They also make a G6 with a mesh top and fly - but no awning or other features of the deluxe. Any insight on which way to go would be appreciated. I live in New England, where mosquitos and black flies are fierce, and it does get into mid-upper 90s in the peak of summer, but not into the 100s like other parts of the country. with our heavy forests, wind is less of an issue.
@jamesmartin72826 ай бұрын
Don't stake it down on the inside because it puts the stakes in the same direction that wind will pull up the gazebo. Stake from the outside, 45 deg away from the gazebo. 😉

Matt - what’s your opinion on the g6 cool top vs the g6 deluxe? Which is the most versatile and would you recommend one over the other?
@MWDAdventures3 ай бұрын
We have not tried the G6 cool top so I am unable to give my recommendation of one over the other. The G6 Deluxe has worked very well for us - we typically use it in the spring or fall - otherwise it gets too warm in the summer

Is this better than the clam pavilion? I’m stuck between the two, you’ve owned both I believe.
@MWDAdventures Жыл бұрын
We like this one much better than our clam, but we had our clam over 5 years ago and I am assuming they have made some upgrades since that one. We like that the walls are attached and zippable. The ventilation windows will come in handy in warmer weather. Also, like the awning out the front on this one.

For next season, I'm trying to decide between a Gazelle-type structure, or getting the wall kit addition for the Peregrine 270 awning. Decisons, decisions 🤔
@MWDAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Things to consider - the Gazelle type structure can be completely closed off - heat held in, where the awning walls will have openings at the front and back. It is nice to have the awning walls since it gives add privacy near your trailer and added rain protection without having to take along a whole extra set up. We have both for different situations.
@retnav922 жыл бұрын
@@MWDAdventures 👍 Good points about various applications of the structures. More concerned with rain/wind protection under the awning, so for the moment am leaning towards the awning wall additions. But hey, may end-up with both eventually.
@The88ninjas Жыл бұрын
I’ve had a 270 awning with walls and it was cool. But the setup just makes the gazelle a no brainer. The quicker I can get camp setup and crack a beer, the happier I am.

On Amazon this gazebo comes with three wall panels. I assume five wall panels are needed with the awning being the sixth wall. Am I correct in the belief that an additional three panel pack is a required purchase in addition to the three that are included?

What do you think about this vs. the Darche awning annex?
@MWDAdventures2 жыл бұрын
We have found different uses for the gazebo vs walls for the Darche awning. We have not tried the annex, so unsure how it compares. We have found using the gazebo is great for spring/fall camping to keep in more heat. When using the Darche walls, it is convenient and adds privacy but because it isn't completely enclosed doesn't stay as warm.
