R.I.P. Richard Washington "Blackwolf the Dragonmaster". You were truly one of a kind, made millions of people smile and huge respect to Smigel for keeping in touch with him, being a friend and finding some work for him from time to time. It gives us fans a glimpse of your soul. Washington died in 2021 of congenital kidney disease which he had been fighting since he was a kid. They met in this segment and Smigel saw so much potential in him that he gave him his personal cell number, to stay in touch and at first regretted it because Washington would call him nearly every day IN CHARACTER as Blackwolf to talk about the news, current events and just have someone to talk to. Smigel said he changed from being slightly annoyed to actually forming a friendship with him as he realized Washington was just lonely but a really good hearted, smart guy who was dealt a bad hand in life but was never bitter about it. You should check out Triumphs 'Come Poop With Me' videos on YT. Washington MCs As Blackwolf and does an outstanding job, really funny. It's a shame that he never did more. I could 100% see him as a regular character on Conans show, sparring with Schlansky and Triumph. Alas, what could have been? Cheers.

Triumph actually started as a bit on Late Night when they were doing a skit about a dog at the Westminster Dog Show named Triumph. I can't really remember what it was about but I know that's how Triumph got started.

Yes, that's pretty much the story. Smigel was denied access to the dog show, but Jordan Schlansky was able to pull off a stunt (fake ID cards) & they snuck in & shot a lot of footage. Smigel has said he was grateful to Jordan, because if that first Triumph remote did not work, they would have quit & Triumph could possibly have never become a thing.
