Got myself a Triumph bobber 2 years ago an mine has the 9 litre tank an tbh it's has never been an issue as these are not designed for touring anyway. Only bad thing i can is the brakes are crap but other than that these bikes are awesome. The only way I'll be selling mine is if I'm upgrading to a Thornton Hundred or Pouslon customs version. Great bike I highly recommend 👌🏽

Hi Kate, super assessment on the bobber . I am a bobber and thruxton owner, I upgraded the suspension on the bobber ( ohlin shock set to my weight 14.5 stone. Iam 6ft 2in tall . ) completely altered the ride, i found the braking okay ( I have the 2024 model ). Well done young lady. Kind regards Norman..👍

Just bought my brand new 2025 Bobber. Two weeks old, I gotta tell you, in my 60 years on this planet, I've never, ever enjoyed owning a motorcycle more. I am so deliriously, over the top, blissfully delighted that, sometimes, I feel I must be dreaming. If you think that might be hyperbole, well I can see why, but, really, I just lack the words to adequately describe my happiness and my satisfaction with this bike. (seat could be softer though) And I am a shorter individual, so I really appreciate the seat height.

Got one myself❤ reviewed it a lot last year. It’s the bike I a, always happiest on, and enjoy every ride😊. Tried sports bikes with 3x the amount of power, and naked with 2x the power and always rather be on BOB.

I started as an offroader, green lanes, enduros etc, then graduated to soft roaders (Adventure Bikes apparently), and so I've had the Tiger since 2014. Never liked or considered cruisers. Then the Bobber came out and I just love the look of them. Then Triumph gave me one as a loan bike at the annual service , and now I've got to own one. Love it. It's a fabulous bike.

I’ve a Bobber Black it’s 237kg. Changed the rear shock for a Hagon much better ride, changed the exhaust for a Motone and it sounds even better. It’s not meant to tour but you can get luggage! I’ve opted for a Motone rear rack and I’ve toured to Yorkshire dales etc. Tank size it’s a bit small mines 9ltrs but you get used to it. Loads of people stop look and chat about it. And it’s perfect for the DGR!

I got my Bobber last year, the stealth edition. When I saw it I fell in love 😊. So pleased you liked it and great video. As some have said, you're braver than us all for going out in the cold. Mine will stay in the garage for another month, I think. 4 months of this shocking weather in this lovely country. Fingers crossed 2025 will be better.

i have the bobber black and the first mod you have to do is fit a rear fox shock which really transforms the ride , it saves your spine from a pot hole compression ! ...for aesthetics i fitted short triumph mudguards front and back with triumphs rear mini light that has integrated indicators and brake light ..there are matching front indicators , a triumph side slung reg plate means you you see its foot print ....for the ears I trashed the cat and fitted US spec varnce and hines ..sounds great ...the review is right the 9litre tank is regular station pit stop pain but the bike is not for touring , its a body and soul realignment ride to the local blt joint .....the mat black finish is a stress at times because its high maintenance but you get over that ...its a brilliant ride with a low centre of gravity so it loves the bends ....the fat rubber means you you have to heave it but thats fun ...stunning looking bike that the Harley beards don't like to have parked by there tractors ...

Hi Kate. Nice review on the Bobber. Talk about following the grooves/ruts in the road. Just imagine if you had gotten one with a skinny front wheel. Those roads do look, pretty bad. I would like to have one. But, I would want the taller(ape hanger) handle bars. Congrats on 100K. Your reference to the Speed Master(I had a first generation Speedy (2003 model)). I call the new ones, “A Bobber with a back seat”. Love your channel.

Your observations are on the money. I had a Speedmaster for 3ish years - same as the Bobber in most regards - and love love loved it. You feel amazing riding it. The bike itself is awesome. Like a Harley, but not in a brash American way (sorry you guys) - in a cool old-school British gent/lady way. Triumph have done an amazing job making it feel and ride like a classic, but be much more capable and sexy. Me, I'm now on a Bullet 350. As much as I loved the Speedmaster, I'm not really an 'awesome' rider hehe. I got one because I wanted a comfortable riding position (hence not getting the Bobber) and a classic ride feel in a modern bike. The Bullet delivers that in a much more understated and practical way and doesn't suffer the SM/Bobber negatives. The low tank range (you're worrying about the next petrol station after 80 miles, really, especially abroad or in the countryside). The short suspension (I'm heavier than you and the front regularly bottomed out. Sometimes the rear). The lurchy throttle (it's inevitable on a high torque engine and you can use the throttle to smooth it, but it could be annoying). The peg scraping (I'm not a knee-down rider, but adverse camber on a roundabout could even be a worry). If it suits you and your needs, the Bobber (and Speedmaster) are fantastic bikes, though. For many, the negatives are far outweighed by the positives.

Great video, Kate! For those of us on the heavier side, the rear shock isn’t the best, and you really feel it if you happen to go over any potholes. I just love the after market parts you can get to really make your bobber your own.

I had a new chrome edition Bobber, I really loved that bike, everywhere I went it got loads of attention, like you say, the sound from the stock exhaust is awesome. My only gripe was the suspension was very unforgiving for a guy about 15 stone. The only reason that was don’t have it now is because we are doing a bit more touring and with the best will in the world, it’s not a tourer. If I could justify having 2 bikes it would definitely still be in my garage 😀

Great review. I've got a '22 Gold Line with a few mods: belt drive, Matris suspension, Motone exhaust and a few other bits and bobs. It's a good bike for around town but it gets a little tiresome on long rides. The belt drive is the best mod for these bikes. Makes shifting buttery smooth. The sound is mesmerizing. I love hitting the throttle in a tunnel, always brings a huge smile. A small flyscreen will grant you another 10Mph of comfort on the highway, but really this bike is for crawling around town at slow speeds. I went to the dealer looking for a Speed Twin but they didn't have one so I ended up with the Bobber. I still crave the Speed Twin; I think it would be a much better bike for longer rides.

Great review and video quality. I bought my current helmet with a peak to handle winter sun. Maybe the peak is a bit too high on your helmet? Lovely countryside on this ride and the bike sounds and looks fantastic. However my T100 is much better with adjustable rear shocks, a bigger tank and a long seat that I can move around on. Also with a thinner front wheel and Avon tyres it goes where I point it. 😃

Funny that you compared it to a Yamaha MT07. I actually used to have the Bonneville 120 Speedmaster which is more or less the same as the Bobber and a beautiful bike. However it had swept back beach bars which are lovely but after a 4 day tour it gave me tendinitis and a year on I'm still suffering so reluctantly it had to go. I decided to downsize to a more basic usable every day bike and I opted for an MT07 and trousered the 4k part ex profit. Im absolutely loving the MT07 but I'm starting to miss that Triumph 120 engine. Thinking I may buy a bonnie 120 or the Bobber and also keep the Yamaha.

@suesue5694 Yes I thought of flat bars but the main attraction for me buying it in the first place were the bars and the feet forward relaxing position. In fact I did find a way afterwards of keeping my wrists straight but it felt a bit unnatural and also it wasn't really a bike I felt I could use every day in this country because even the slightest of moisture on the road and it came home absolutely filthy 😁

How on Earth do you carry luggage on it? it may not be very powerful, but it is very torquey, and it's the torque that makes the back end break traction on greasy roads, not the power, so that rain mode may be a blessing after all. I suspect it's heavier because of the triangulated swingarm to get the Harley Softtail look: there's basically twice as much metal in the swingarm and it's all steel, not aluminium. Not looked at one up close, but I suspect that a lot more of the fixtures and fittings, like the side panels for instance, are steel rather than allooy or plastic too. Also, that fat front wheel will be much heavier than a slim one.

@@UsernameKate No argument there. In the end few modern bikes are reasonable. The 270 kg electric Energica I recently bought provides about 110 km / 65 miles of range in winter and therefore isn’t offering much common sense either. So it falls far outside of my normal argumentation. But it still is fascinating. Difficult to keep upright while shoving it around though, although most of that weight seems to evaporate as soon as it starts to move under its own power. 😁

Is it just me or do bobbers look really cool until someone sits on one then it doesn't look as good anymore?

The bobber has an issue with the gas range calculation. On a full tank, my bobber ALWAYS states a range of 87 miles. This is not accurate. As you approach an empty tank (half tank or less), the estimated range becomes accurate. I have the 9L tank on a 2017, so range is always on my mind. After riding 21k miles, I am averaging 55 miles per gallon overall, with some spirited riding strongly mixed in there. The standard seat is not great for long rides. I have a Corbin brand after market saddle and can ride comfortably on a 300 mile day with no issues. With no wind management, I can ride comfortably at 65 mph all day. 70 mph and over is fine for short bursts but it begins to wear on me.

I have the same model and my range seems to go up as i ride 😂 But i have managed 120miles with some spirited riding on one tank full (9ltrs) and it only took just over 8ltrs to refill, so a few miles left too. Not sure how accurate it is, but mine seems to average 60mpg no matter how hard i ride it.

I have never really understood why Bike manufacturers charge so much extra for different colours of paintwork. I think they are just making money from some sort of false pretence that there is something 'exclusive' in coloured paint...

I wish more sexy bikes were higher... I suffer greatly on tiny bikes like that. Pants are not made for ducking level bent knees, plus it gets painful. Usually, in fact, bikes are neither tall enough, nor short enough. Different styles equal different sizes. Sadly. I like cruisers and the likes, usually extremely tiny bikes. Yet I'm tall (i mean average for where I come from.) You will NEVER have a perfect size bike. Anyway, don't say "usually bikes are tall" - it's just wrong. I'm yet to find a good size bike for me.

Respectfully, I'll say it because it's my experience as most bikes I ride on the channel are tall, and I am quite clearly speaking from a small person perspective. I say this bike probably won't fit you if you are tall..

Definitely! I draw comparisons because its half the torque, but also half the weight, with very similar power to weight ratios so it just triggered a familiar feeling for me :)

@midlife-crysis it's not about my time consumption. It's about different aspects of a review. It's a useful feature. Many reviewers are regularly using it. Her review is Nice, she speaks her mind. But if I want to just listen to info about the engine, how do I do it ? It's like reading an essay written in one big paragraph. Also you watch some videos many times with time period. A segmented video helps to sort out the subjects, helps the viewer.
