Best wishes to you and yours Ian. Been there mate….lost my Dad to dementia some 8 years ago now. He was also my best mate and I still miss him. But as time passes I take a lot of comfort from recalling the great times we had together when he was well. Take care.

Morning TAYM, I don't think motorcycling is in too much decline, everyone I know that have always had bikes still have bikes, but I think the present financial climate is hitting people as far as buying more bikes or newer models , it's wise to hang on to what you've got in these situations, But I reckon some dealerships try to get too big and spread themselves too thin trying to take over too many areas. I remember when The Superbike Factory started in Macclesfield in the basement of an old mill, it used to be bloody freezing! 🥶 😅😅 Have a good weekend anyway, Cheers Mel 🍻 , Sorry to hear about Ian's Dad though, sad news indeed.

Just a little follow on from your video, i live literally about 2 miles from Shuttleworth, was there a few weeks ago, they have some marvellous old bikes in there collection, if i figure out how to send a picture, they have a beautifully restored RAC bike and side car.

@@TAYM they blame availability of bikes after COVID , and the death of the old sportster, and of course the high price of everyday life over here with the current leaders in charge. And the last reason is a real fact .

I had the same conversation with a friend yesterday about how much cheaper motorcycling is compared to owning & running a car. Could you recommend any 125cc bikes for new "older" riders thinking of getting into motorcycling? Especially for the shorter kind (5ft7).

Thanks AC 😁 I think most are pretty much the same 🤔 for me the best 125 that I’ve ridden is the Yamaha xsr 😁 loved it 😁 cost a bit more but I think I would rather have an older xsr than a new bike of another manufacturer 😁 unless you want a retro style of course 😁

Sorry to hear Ian's sad news it is very tough I still miss my Dad like mad so condolences to him and his family. I am guilty of putting one of those videos out but it doesn't matter because no one watches my videos 🤣🤣🤣Seriously though I think we do need to support the dealers we have left and we do need to encourage more youngsters to take up motorcycling.

The new sales internal combustion motorcycle ban is only 10 years away now, we'll probably see many dealerships starting to wind down and disappear ready for that, no one wants to be left with an expensive business that can't sell anything. Even if you don't believe that will happen, banks and businesses will have to assume it's going ahead and plan accordingly. The little electric scooters and bikes that suit electric power will either be online direct sales or combined with bicycle shops (like motorbike sales used to be!). Taxation will probably kill off legacy bikes with £1000/year tax or whatever rather than banning them. We'll all be going on biking holidays to India and China to ride bikes!!

The industry is unsustainable imho Modern bikes , rates taxes all add up I work in the industry, tyres and oil ... or specific jobs pay the money full service on a transalp? who can afford that in this day and age, My old enfield FULL service; tyres, oil, valves, brake shoes , points adjust, AND A CUP of tea wouldn't be more than a couple of hours

You Wouldn't want a case of Ring Rash that's what you get when use the fury side of Bushmens Friend😂😆🤣.I remember once we were in the bush & my mate needed to a shite & yelled out "Which side of Bushmans Friend you use?" I looked at my other mate & laughed & I didn't respond.My mate I was with goes "So what side do you use?" I said quietly "The smooth side" HE goes you "Gana tell HIM?". I replied "Nah". & we both laughed.Our mate comes back 10mins later & we carried on.About 10mins goes by we nearly back at car 🚗 & HE starts itching & swearing 🤬.I had the cheek to say "So what side did you use of Bushmans Friend?". HE says "The soft fury side I guess I wasn't meant to?"My other mate & I nearly pissed ourselves laughing & I said laughing "You use the smooth side tge soft fury side gives you a rash😂😆🤣".HE goes " I yelled out I didn't hear you" & we laugh even harder & he goes "You heard me Cheeky bugger".We were laughing all the way home on & off well HE wasn't 😂& after that HE always carried Shite paper 💩🧻 in HIS back pocket & HE Never did it Agaaaaaain😁😆😂🤣. Now that was a case of Ring Rash.
