Absolutely. The reason being in many countries in Europe you can register those bikes and ride them on public roads. Makes everything more convenient and gives you much more freedom. With motocross bikes you are pretty much stuck on motocross tracks or very specific areas. You have to own a trailer too.

With the 3 years of development going back to the drawing board for a totally new , fresh factory quality bespoke design with that great frame and brand new engine, don't write it off but next year any gremlins or weaknesses will be sorted out. I've worked on CNC and worked in aircraft parts manufacture and not only will the parts made be u p to ISO9001 but the precision, design and thought that's gone into it with top universities, engineers and racers plus their experience in Moto 2 just shows that triumph staff are not just capable of making a reliable top quality competitive bike but already those race engines and their design will have been thoroughly hammered on the track as a pre production model and most of the weaknesses will have been sorted out. Plus those top racers with so much experience at the very top like Carmichael are no mugs and clearly will want to develop a bike they would race themselves plus 3 years and the big budget and publicity means that it has to be similar to Honda Yamaha and the very best European dirt bikes.

Really enjoy your positivity. A little dissapointed you can't see that it's a KTM motor. They have obviously tweaked it as Ricky said they wanted more low end, so diff compression ratio, cams, tweaked clutch and also a different ECU and injection setup. But it's clearly KTM. And that's a good thing because a new engine would have had issues.

I am an old stool Desert racer, from the mid 1970’s-mid 1990’s and I am against all this electronic crap, traction control, quick shifters and the like. We used to have all ‘dead engine starts’ and I last raced a 1986 XR600R bored out to a 730cc and trust me it was not easy to start unless warmed up a bit. None of this dandy crap, just 12” of travel front and rear suspension and 250 miles of desert to cover every 2 weeks from February to December each year. Interesting choice going with the aluminum frame. Personally, it’s hands down the best looking bike on the market. In the months prior to this release, Ricky’s demeanor showed he wasn’t feeling it at all. Today it shows he’s pumped. That tells me that Ricky put knuckles on the brass and Triumphs executives answered the call. I’m hoping the AMA will write an exemption to the rule keeping Savatgy out of 250 SX. Maybe something too the effect of, riders competing on a new brand get a one year extension. New brands don’t happen often so this rule will seldomly be used.

@@jamessharp9790 I agree that if you're a fan of motorcycles in general & especially MX or SX you should most definitely look at the storied history of Husqvarna motorcycles! I'd venture to say that it's the white plastic and probably the black and funky looking green or yellow that makes this Triumph resemble a modern Husqvarna,nonetheless I'm a fan of KTM as well as Husqvarna's both pre 2014 and current Husqvarna. The very first thing that makes this great looking Triumph not a Husqvarna is the fact that it's an aluminum frame and not chromoly and the sub frame isn't aluminum but polymide plastic.

It's a sick bike and if the riders are already talking about the handling and the power to the ground being awesome, there's no telling how much better it can get. Out of the crate is has every bell and whistle. Now enter the all star cast. Everyone involved is the best of the best. Ricky would not have his name in it if he wasn't confident it would be great. Enter Bobby Hewitt. I know Bobby would not have come off of his 5 year hiatus if he didn't think this was the right deal for him or a team he could win on. Since his Extreme Team Green days, to Suzuki, KTM and then Husqvarna, he's the master of taking mediocre teams and turned them around and winning championships. He's one of those guys that just doesn't know how to fail so if he has an all NEW platform to work from and a hand picked team, I say watch out. He's brutally honest so if he says they will be ready to go racing in January, I would tend to believe him.

i love the KYB on my 21 Beta Racing. For Hardenduro I turnt the rebound up and the compression down. Putting the fork further up in the triple clamps also helps in rough terrain, since the KYB does stay pretty high. Even if I go to a local (not too crazy) MX track i can easly ride it on the harder settings. However the racing isn't for everyone since you need to go a certain speed to make it work properly. It could be a bit softer if I only did hard stuff but since I go to the track from time to time I won't revalve it. It impresses me how far you can tune it just with the clickers.

Good video Rado, look its better than I expected on PAPER, lets see if it is as good as it looks in the real world, sure it will be with the time and effort gone in! I probably was one of those critical it would be a cookie cutter copy, also glad it isnt for the sake of the motocross industry more than Triumph, but its good work so congrats to them! I still believe with the likes of Fantic who have a 250 GP and 450 GP team headed by a real top 5 rider, 4th in MXGP overall last year and 2 time MXDN outright individual winner in Glenn Coldenhoff, plus Beta and now Ducati entering full on will crowd the market and to sell, imo 450 class with a legit rider gives them a leg up, that said some will say more development time, but with those 3 brands they are developing in the best environment racing! With Savatgy not racing the 250 SX that's a buzz kill, not that I think he should be able, I'm frankly sick of past riders stepping down to the 250s to steal a title or just hanging out in the 250 class for a payday. Racers race, race or get out and do something else! 250 class is a feeder class, its not like the old 125/250/500 class's that were legitimate men's class's regardless of CC. So Triumph, good work, it will now be interesting to see the Ducati! None of these bikes are in my market wheelhouse however! I said that on one of your OG videos on Triumph, I am not the target market!. That said a bike has come up and frankly the price doesn't even scare m because its the bike that I always wanted Honda, Yamaha, Kawi, Suzuki to make and I have been saying since the late 90s when we owned fuel injected Yamaha outboard speed boats when I raced MX 250 class and wake boarded and water skied my arse off every weekend in summers! It was non sensical that Honda or Yamaha or Kawasaki that invented the Jetski couldn't developed a fuel injected 2 stroke MX engine, it wasn't capability it was will or lack of it! It took KTM and others! BUT, if you haven't seen 999lazers video recently on this bike, WATCH IT. Shameless plug here, no one does more to promote 2t than this dude, but its def worth checking if you are a 2stroke fan.kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHOpeYSMmZWXrbc This bike excites me more than any bike since my 1993 CR250 and 06 YZ250. I'm putting down the greens on this thing even if its just to sit in my man cave, I don't care. This is the bike technology the Japanese should have developed decades ago, I said it then and say it now we got robbed of an era! For more info on the T500 - tomasinracing.net/product/eng... Good video thanks Rado, keep it up, best vid on the Triumph release I have seen. ps I do hope you get one to test, its important that someone whos a real weekend warrior gets to give us feedback on the 250X, btw the way that's weird, why 250 X, why not 250R, R is for racing, X is usually for X country? That's weird to me and a miss esp if they branch out to X country or Enduro?

The wheel hubs do not appear to be a solid billet hub. They are a cast hub that has been machined on the center, you can tell by the outside of the hub its cast...

Sounds as if they've done a good job - using top branded parts is what KTM do. I think it increases the price, but you need to do it if you want to be at the top.

What he didn’t say is the engine produces 51 HP…ktm & kawi only produce 45ish…that is SIGNIFICANT for a 250…I’ve been wanting a mixture of Austrian and Japanese bikes…motor & hydraulic clutch of ktm, yet suspension of Yamaha…and the engine of 51 horses…aftermarket wheels already…I hope it lives up to the hype as I will get one or two…😂

I'm a definitely buying one they are around the same price as everything else but already comes with parts on it that we would end up paying out of pocket for any other bike

I'm not going to be happy until I see Aprilia and Cagiva get back in the game. Possibly get Vertematti Bros to mod out the factory bikes. While we're on the subject, let's dial it back on the 4 Stroke nonsense. I'm getting bored watching these tractor pulls when I could be watching racing.
@jeff40
@jeff40 Жыл бұрын
I agree with that. 4-strokes get boring and you know racing a 4-choke makes racing a lot easier and quite boring! 2-strokes rule the roost period!

cagiva doesnt exist anymore, also aprillia tried motocross bikes in the 2010s and didnt succeed as expected, i doubt they will be back at this
@jeredalmeida1880
@jeredalmeida1880 11 ай бұрын
@@frankyweaponsI know they don't exist but you know the motorcycle industry. It's like the MCU. One superhero gets killed then somehow gets resurrected and overpowered. I'm sure there's enough leftover R&D between Moto Morini and Ducati to at least bring back the name. MV already did it and somehow, someone was stupid enough to sprinkle Dracula's blood on Indian yet again. As for Aprilia they had 2 major attempts in the dirt. They did win 9 Chips as the underdog and the latter attempt was banned by the AMA for being a V-Twin. They say it was due to emissions but we all know that's bullshit. The Big 4 were paying someone off. I'd be happy to at least see a 250. 4 stroke or 2 stroke. Even if they don't make waves in motocross, how awesome would it be to have that twin MXV 450 back? Even as a play bike, top 10 imo.

If triumph comes out with a two-stroke that's when I might try one out . The picture where they're showing the frame the weld's look kind of shitty. It seems like they were teaching welding class at their shop😂

If they keep being complacent and getting comfy riding on the coat tail of their glory days they're going to be caught with their pants down by the Chinese. And when that happens it'll probably be too late.🤦‍♂️
