Nice to see a job done correctly with good use of a torque wrench. It's surprising how many harleys I've worked on over the years and couldn't the sump plug out because the dealers overtighened it. Great video as always, thanks Proffessori. PS next time you pop in you can do a 50k service on the rune.

What a performance getting to the air filter, ridiculous on a supposedly off road bike where it needs to be done often.

An easy mod to stop your oil filter loosening is to put a hose clamp around it and tie wire the clamp to the frame. I'm sure a seasoned biker like yourself is most likely aware of this, but some of your viewers may not. After seeing a Ducati lose its oil filter on a racetrack, and subsequently spitting oil on the back wheel and sending,bike and rider down the road, rather unceremoniously, it adds a little peace of mind.

Thank you so much for your videos, you have helped me understand my XC. Quick question or rather a request are/could you please do/doing a coolant maintenance video? Thank you so much and greetings from Los Cabos, Mexico.

I've just paid £238 for a first annual service as it was in warranty and now I'm wondering if it was worth it. I used to service my T140E for 16 years. You are much more skilled than I am, but I could do the basics for sure.

Hi Simon, I see there is a fuel filter in the tank to replace at regular intervals and another on the fuel pump that needs cleaning. What is your view on changing the fuel lines as per the service schedule? I never changed any on my old bike. Cheers Bob
@SongsFromTheSaddle

Probably should be done, but TBH I don't bother. I've never had any issue on any bike with 'dirty fuel'

Thanks, nice video with a lot of useful informations. My Scrambler being still under waranty I will let the dealer do the maintenance, but as soon as the waranty end, I would like to do it myself. I'm curious: have you also experimented a very short mileage from the front tire ? The factory one (Metzeler) only lasted 4600 km (2800 miles). I replaced it by a Continental Trail Attack 3 but it seems that it will not last much longer than the Metzeler. I drive mainly on small roads and not particularly hard.

If you see one of my earlier videos, I was unimpressed by the original tyres and changed them soon after I bought the bike. My best upgrade so far. (Conti Trail Attack 3s)
@Ian-bq7gp

I really like the Michelin pilot sports touring tyres for on road as they last very well around 8000 to 10000 miles whereas the contis square off at 5000 miles on the front and are skittish on the white lines when worn.
@whizz61
@whizz61 Жыл бұрын
@@Ian-bq7gp Thank you for the information. I will definitely take a look at the Michelin tire. I was incorrect about the longevity of the Continental Trail Attack 3. The front tire is nearly worn out, but I have now covered 10,000 km (6,200 miles), which is much better than the original Metzeler. It's true that the sidewalls wear faster, but I suppose those tires were not designed for the winding roads we have here in Switzerland 😀

The scrapes on the bottom of the oil filter are freaking me out a bit. I wonder if there are any reports of filters being damaged enough to cause leaks.

Hello; I think the problem will be in the future when it be in the need of valve adjustment service; like most of the new engines. I need to do it on an Husqvarna 401 and is a real pain in the arse. I need to dismantle half of the bike to only adjust valves! and then at that; when you remove the camshaft/s and try to let the chain in the best position to prevent disengage from down part (to not lose the timing) then do math to see the adjustment! Nothing as easy like an old Triumph

Don't forget to put a tiny allen to fit the stupid key fob if your battery goes play whilst riding out. I did away with mine so as not to get stranded - I never leave the bike out of sight.

Its actually a tiny torx screw. I keep a torx driver and 2 spare fob batteries in the little box under the seat.
