Im reading some are finding the suspensions stiff on the XE. Im a bit concerned cause the main reason was the suspensions (our roads up here are terrible) and most bike suspensions are way too stiff. I currently have an africa twin and was hoping the scrambler suspensions would be even better...do you think theres enough adjustability to make them very comfortable? Thanks!

Finally a good in English review. My XE is on order. I do not do long trips anymore and this is going to be my goldieloks bike for 250 mile and under runs and some fire road trips in Colorado. I also am tired of the Voltron and Optimus Prime bastard child looks of all the new ADV bikes. Instead T mated a Thruxton R with a Tiger XCa and this is their spawn. Bravo T! Again, the other makers will be playing catch up.

Went and sat on one yesterday. Did the whole “eyeball it, sit and stand up on it” at the dealer. It’s pretty nice. The one I checked out was $16,900 due to added parts. Very good looking bike, but I’m not throwing down an amount of cash like that for a bike. Bike prices are getting out of control and no one is addressing it. The temptation factor goes out the window when I can buy an awesome vehicle for the same price. It looks really cool, but it’s right at $20k out the door for a bike.

Due to the high exhaust, throw over bags would just rest on the hot exhaust on the right side. There might be some saddlebag supports made to provide clearance in the future, but currently none is available. As for a windscreen, you could use a universal windscreen that either mounts to the fork tubes or to the handlebar. We don't have any windscreens designed specifically for this bike yet, though. -DrewZilla *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-a34-universal-windscreen *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/puig-stream-universal-windscreen *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/puig-universal-touring-windscreen *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-a660-airstar-universal-windscreen *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-a603-airstar-universal-windscreen *www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/puig-custom-ii-universal-windscreen

Revzilla. Top review, best yet on this bike. The suspension looked to be working really well and the bike just seemed totally stable and composed on the dirt considering the weight of the bike. Would you say the suspension is as good as or even better than a KTM1090 Adventure R?
@chrisredfield32406 жыл бұрын
I would say as good for suspension considering it's twin shock rears. The weight must be around the same for both bikes. Most are showing dry weight for the 1200 scrambler but people as guessing around 230kg wet.
@Britishshooter6 жыл бұрын
@youtube can eat my ass with a spoon Who is crying? Didn't see any testers saying anything other than the suspension is fantastic? I am an enduro rider and long range RTW off road adventure rider of 25 + years experience and know something about suspension. If you watch all the vids where the E is running off road, then if you know ANYTHING about off road suspension you will notice something seriously unusual. Concentrate on the headlight and observe just how level it stays when the bike is recovering from a jump. The fact that the jump is not a major one is not the point, nothing out there in that weight class recovers like that, not even a KTM1090R, certainly not an Africa Twin and not anything from BMW either. Technically that is a new standard. Of course you would actually need to understand off road motorcycle suspension to appreciate what I have just pointed out. Most people don't.
@Britishshooter6 жыл бұрын
@youtube can eat my ass with a spoon Well mate you in for a surprise when the back to back reviews come along, you will be eating your words then. I assure you I seriously do know what I am talking about and if you didn't spot the exceptional behaviour of that bike on the rough then all you tell me is that you DONT know anything about suspension, Christ man, that is self-evident, you clearly don't even know what the hell to look for! You have to put personal prejudice aside and observe technical facts and recognise what you are seeing.I hate BMW bikes but if I saw an radical level of suspension behaviour in a new model I would at least spot it and acknowledge it. Most large adventure bikes only go as far as Starbucks that is quite true, but that does NOT mean this suspension is not exceptional. Technical facts are what real pros are interested in and Triumph has done a game changing job on this bike.There is a very good reason why Triumph was confident enough to enter this bike into the Baja race, just unfortunate the rider injured himself in practice on his KTM450. Of course such a large bike would not have been competitive but that is not the point, nor would a KTM1090R or any other large 207 kilo bike. However, it's capability would have sent shock waves through the industry.
@Britishshooter6 жыл бұрын
@youtube can eat my ass with a spoon I am not a fanbois, I am not going to buy one of these, I am just an impartial observer who having crossed every desert on Earth, does actually know what I am talking about and also knows when I have seen something exceptional. Stock for stock against similar weight bikes this Trumpet will surprise a lot of people and the thing is built like a tank so I doubt it will fall apart when they do enter it next time. No one is saying it is a Baja contender, of course not, but nor would anything else like this be, but the fact that Triumph even considered entering should tell you something, they certainly were not going to do it to be humiliated. The reason why this guy in the video stopped them jumping was insurance liability restrictions on rider injury not the bikes capability. One of the other journos told me about that from another test. That Dommie of yours is a good bike BTW, excellent choice.
@Britishshooter6 жыл бұрын
@youtube can eat my ass with a spoon No you are being unfair, he practised mainly with the Triumph when they were testing and setting it up (although apparently, the bike had no significant mods apart from better air filtration and removal of indicators Cat etc). The rider, Ernie Vigil, was just riding his own personal 450 to get 'desert fit' when the accident happened. He was gutted, so were Triumph as they could not get a replacement rider of the same standard in time who could be released from contract. Vigil was seriously confident about the bike and I reckon he would have finished OK, and it would have surprised a lot of people. I reckon it was pretty cool of Triumph to risk it and it shows they believe in the strength of it's construction. After all, it is not a competition bike at all

Good review....I've read/watched pretty much everything that's come out about this bike, the only common negative seems to be the price!. But you are getting an amazing bike for your money....I'm really hoping a test ride confirms it is as good as I want it to be. For that sort of money it will need to be a do everything bike...and I never subscribe to the thoughts that a bike isn't suitable for big distances, I used to ride my ultimate Desert scrambler, my beloved XR650R vast distances! Cheers, Steve
@DEeMONsworld6 жыл бұрын
I'm old enough to know what a scrambler really is and is not. Even in 1970 Triumph merely took a standard TR6 and put high pipes on it and called it a "scrambler" TR6C. This I agree is not a scrambler by definition but an awesome entry into the ADV segment from the Modern classic perspective. I would much rather ride this thing on trails than a 550 pound pseudo off road ADV bike. I think from the looks and reports it has much more off road potential. Scrambler has become no more than a marketing term these days. What ever you call it for today's upscale market, it is a good product.
