I’m the schmuck who payed $416 at the same dealership as Matt ($28 of that tax, $281 in labor!!). I now am feeling totally ripped off. I’m no mechanic at all but do my own oil change and valve adjustments etc on my TW200. But I thought for this my first brand new hi tech bike, I’ll let the dealership do all the inspections… (they may do?) software etc… I do not accredit this to Triumph, I totally think its the dealer. Im trying to also get a warranty piece of work done they want me to pay for but that is another story. I’m with Matt, I have absolutely loved the bike, it’s got pick up! But.. just be aware, I feel it’s the new model blues, some will be fine and some will have issues, add that with parts not available from India and cheaper quality parts on it. I love that it was cheap for what it is.. but my credit card is starting to rack up at the dealer making it not cheap. Jury still out :)
@hassosigbjoernson57384 ай бұрын
Well ... Triumph is not a cheap brand for sure. And I would not feel ripped off if you really felt helped and serviced at the dealership. The people there have also to live from something ... But if you don't feel good afterwards and you maybe have another dealer to go to ... give it a try. Good work can cost a dollar more, but it has to be good work in the first place.

Spanner (service) light on, 12k, did the service myself all original Triumph parts, took it to dealer and they won’t turn it off unless they’ve done the service themselves 😮 This is despite having bought all the (expensive) parts and tools for the service from them. I just ignore the spanner now😂 My Yam Tracer mt09, I can reset light myself.

I agree, great bike. I just changed the front sprocket from the 14 tooth to a 15 tooth as most KZbinrs recommend. I did the work myself, found the correct sprocket on Amazon (get the one with the rubber strip around the circumference front and back of the sprocket). It shipped from the Netherlands but got here in a surprisingly short time. Ridge Roamer and Bankrupt Pensioner YT channels have good videos on this. Haven't had time to test performance on the highway but it extends 1st and 2nd gears on my dirt road. Reported to drop the RPMs about 300 to 500.

Love the bike. Thought of buying one. I considered other models as well. But the one consistent feedback from Triumph owners is the price of service. There are things that voids the warranty if you don't have them perform the services. There are other brands that do this as well. For that reason, I unfortunately stepping away from this. I'll stick to adding to my steed of Honda bikes. Thank you for your videos. Very informative and helps with the decision making and validating other feedback.

Thanks for taking the time to watch and for the comment. Yeah, I have heard both sides of the warranty game. I've never really worried about it with my bikes just cause of the work I do on them by myself. But, it makes a lot of sense to take all that into consideration when buying though. Honda makes a great machine that lasts forever so you can't ever go wrong there.

For some nice accessories, have a look at the K-Speed site, they are in Thailand. I was able to download an app to my phone and use a standard Bluetooth OBDII sensor to connect to the bike and reset the service light for oil changes and things like that. One question and one point... What is included in the 1st service that is would cost $416?! Basically an oil ad filter change, a quick tug of the chain, a once over to make sure nothing is falling off... No thanks. I trust myself MUCH more than any dealer tech. And I hope someone comes up with the proper sequence to turn off the service light! I rode the Scrambler and the Speed 400s both multiple times at Barber this weekend and fairly well decided that this will be my next bike But, I do ALL of my own bike service work and haven't had a bike at a stealership in over 20 years, and even that was for warranty work! NO WAY in HELL I'm making an over 2 hour round trip, and PAYING for them to just turn off the service interval light. I have 16 bikes currently, of various makes, and none of them take more than a minute to turn off the service light once you know the sequence of buttons, key on/key off, etc. Your dealer charging you $31 for that just shows how little they appreciate their customers. 👎
