Handy hint to keep in mind is positive terminal is last off and first on when changing a battery. Love the t-shirt (I'm aussie) and your videos btw

Keep your bike on a battery tender when not in use, I have a 2016 Thruxton and Street triple both on the original batteries and still going strong.

Thanks for this video, Adam. I just bought my replacement and will be following along to install it. I bought a lithium ion battery hoping it will have a longer life. Fingers crossed.

Which lithium battery did you purchase, if you don't mind me asking, and what are your thoughts on it. Thanks in advance for responding.

Hey Adam, I bought a Speed Twin about a year ago and thus far have not had an issue with the battery. I did with my 1050 Tiger, forgot the battery minder and tried starting it on an almost flat battery. I cooked the starter solenoid and was told it was my fault because low volts caused amps to spike. Won’t do that again. Have watched your Chanel with interest over the last 12 months. A Kiwi follower.

Thanks for watching! Yeah I’m sure it’s my fault with this battery issue, two USB’s and not using battery tender did it in. I have future plans to travel to and rent a bike in NZ and adventure with my wife! After all this Covid is over! Maybe I’ll ask for route suggestions!

Hey Adam love the videos! Do you have a list of upgrades you have done along with a rating on each? Thank You

When I finally finish my website I’ll throw something together like that, otherwise my previous video on a year of ownership of the ST covers a lot of that!

I would suggest purchasing a Optimate 4 battery charger.

My Tiger 1200 battery only lasted 2 years. It spent all of its down time on an optimate. Triumph warranty is only 12 months on a battery.

Yeah I need to make a habit of hooking it up to the battery tender consistently.

That’s poor that it only lasted 1 year, when u can get to the dealership I’d be asking for a new one under warranty!
@AdamCroll4 жыл бұрын
I’m not sure a battery is a warranty item unless they actually found a major amp draw. I suspect it was my fault from lack of use and two USB’s plugged in at all times.

One month shouldn't be a problem. I never had a problem like that with such low times in standstill.

That looked like a real pain in the a**. Too bad today's bikes don't come with a kicker option.

Use a leaky feeder battery charger on days u don't use ya bike it keeps the battery charged and healthy

Adam, the OEM battery should be good for 2 years, you may have trouble with the charging system or the USB system, i would ask the dealership to have a look next time you are there, or is it just a case of you like tinkering and you thought F##K it ill change the battery and make a new video , did you look at the lithium option
@AdamCroll4 жыл бұрын
I looked at price and good reviews, lithium was not worth it to me at this time, maybe next time though.
