If I could afford more than one bike , I would have that bike in my stable. But at 65 and retired I will stay with my NC750x DCT . Oh and by the way Paul , I installed a larger windshield to my NC . The MadStad adjustable windshield. What a fantastic windshield. Its a dream to ride the NC even more. Have a great day .

I'm lucky in that I have a '22 Speedie to go with my NC DCT, and can concur with all you say. The Triumph is a great cruiser but, like all bikes, can be improved. Mine has footboards with heel and toe gearshift, which really moves the comfort into the "armchair" division. They also provide slightly increased ground clearance, so win-win. Unfortunately I think Triumph have stopped offering them as an admittedly expensive accessory and I'm not sure if there are any alternatives out there. 6th gear is very much an overdrive gear for motorway use and I tend to put my quick release Madstad screen on for that sort of journey and which takes all the strain out of higher speed work. Don't buy the Triumph screen which is non-qd, non-adjustable and a bugger to fit and costs as much as a decent adjustable Madstad. Just wish i had the roads to ride on that you have. Also love the beach bars, they suit the laid back style so well, and as you say the sound is fabulous, no loud pipes required. Not as economical as the NC obviously, but still good for 60+mpg. Great video Paul.

Hi, I'm 5'10 - 30 inch in seam. At times I ride this bike spirited. I now have this technique on auto pilot where I read the coming corner and if tight and coming in a tad hot I throw my leg onto the pillion peg and corner hard. No issue if I scrape the front peg as no weight on it. Any taller and this riding mode won't be comfortable. Additionally, when on the highway Ill often ride both rear pegs, this allows to change up the riding position when clocking serious Km's. I know this sound somewhat strange but as an ex sport biker this works seriously well when cornering this bike. I'm also 60yrs and still have that youthful riding desire when it suits. It's a great bike and the engine is just divine!

@@birchwoodbiker I would seriously suggest giving it a go. Remember to lower rear pegs before heading out. May hinder those with bad knees. Like I wrote, I have the movement and balance programmed into the grey matter where I only move the cornering leg, the other stays on the front peg. Now, I don't have a screen but will at some stage grab a Dart marlin. I just don't like the aesthetic of the large highway screens and 80% ride back country roads here in NZ. However, when I'm on a highway and when its safe to do so, I'll rear peg it (both feet) and pop my hands on the inside of the beach bars. this allows my body weight to fall forwards and negate the wind chest pressure as well as a complete position change up and stretch out. You can surprising steer the bike very well and securely but certainly not recommended in heavy traffic or twisty roads where immediate access to controls are required - though I have seriously tested this position on twistier roads. Of course as a disclaimer, this should not be attempted, but if one does have the inclination, they must be skilled riders who know this bikes idiosyncrasies and only in dry calm minimal traffic conditions. For myself, when I started experimentation with the rear pegs and bar position, it changed the entire riding scope of this bike. Certainly not in the design R&D but an surprisingly extra offering all the same. Let me know how it goes. Cheers, Birch - Ride safe.

I've had mine for 2 years but until I watched this I was going to part ex it for something else. Not now! The big attraction for me 2 years ago was the swept back beach bars which I found sooo comfortable. However, I took it on a weeks tour of the Peak District in May and because (I now know) my hands were bent outwards, it's given me really bad tendionitis on my left hand which I still have a brace for. I've since learned to keep my hands straight and hold the grips as you would a pencil which works when I remember to do it! It'll soon become muscle memory I'm sure. It's a fantastic bike and always attracts attention. Funnily enough I rarely see one in the wild. Great video and you've changed my mind!

@birchwoodbiker Yes I agree about the stock exhaust it's fantastic isn't it. I think the Triumph fits in more naturally to the British Countryside than the Harley too. I've got a GS for the workhorse stuff and long distance really, but for pure riding pleasure around the windy roads the Speedy is the best. Also if I'm feeling sociable I take the Speedy, and everyone stops and talks. If I want to be left alone I take the GS !

Took the CAT off mine and fitted a De-cat unit. Let the ponies out. Got ride of the low speed uncertainty and drive line snatch. Bit louder at the exhaust but pleasantly bearable. Not much change of fuel consumption either. It's a great bike. Cheers and happy rides out.

Having watched almost an hour of this video because I was here for the Speedmaster I was about to subscribe to your channel. However, not after your remarks at 56:09. No way. Not even gonna give you a like. Shame your mic couldn't pick up the sound of the exhausts a real missed opportunity. Note to self, position the mic better or get a better mic.
