Excellent demo! Thanks Mate! I just bought the 2022 Triumph Speedmaster here in Miami, Florida and I'd like to be able to change my own oil. I feel like I could give it a go now!

Thanks for the video, very interesting. Can you get a sump guard for these bikes? Reason I ask is I saw a video on KZbin where the guy had a hole smashed in his sump by debris being flicked up from his wheel. He was lucky to get hi engine off in time and not come off his Speedmaster as the rear wheel was covered in oil.

Your bike is a lot like mine! Love the brass filler cap... Thanks for the video, very nicely done. I also enjoyed the booster plug video too. easily the most informative of the lot that I've watched... Now thinking about the airbox removal... What are your thoughts on that? TBH!
@big5003 жыл бұрын
Hi there Captain... very much enjoyed your trip to Wales videos.. Regarding airbox removal, I have to admit I’m not a fan. I think it looks ok but it seems to create more problems than it solves regarding getting a neat solution to fitting side panels etc. I’d also be concerned about getting the bike to run as nicely as it does with an airbox.

Understood!! Lockdown and furlough are making me far too bored for my bank account to survive!! 😁 I like the look of the spirit pod filters with the leather cover but I also worry about things getting wet. It if were just a show bike then it wouldn’t matter... Glad you liked the vids! Hopefully a lot more to come this year! Ride safely and tally Bally Ho!

Thanks. Very helpful. Is that the Motone brass fuel cap? Looks great!
@big5003 жыл бұрын
Hi Guy... yes I think it’s a Motone one. I bought it second hand from the bobber forum..👍

Hello! Great video, thanks for sharing. Preparing myself to change the oil on my 2020. To remove the filter, is that a 32 mm 6 point socket??

Looking at buying a Bonneville soon. What oil and viscosity did you use, I take it that the gearbox and engine share the same oil.
@big5002 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul…. Castrol Power RS 10/40 synthetic. Gearbox and engine share the same oil.

Great just looking at this model what year have you got and any advice please
@big5003 жыл бұрын
Hi Stanley. It’s a 20 plate. The only advice I can give is go for a test ride, and make sure the stock handlebars suit. I didn’t like them so swapped for bobber bars.

Why didn't you remove the oil filler plug when you removed the sump plug ? that way you allow air into the engine to assist with the oil draining out of the sump ... Wes Martin
@big5003 жыл бұрын
I normally do, but I forgot..

@@big500 That advice you gave about making sure the O ring that is situated on top of the oil filter wasn't still stuck on the bike when the new filter was screwed on was absolutely GOLD .. that is a caution that is well taken . Thank you Thank you Thank you .. Wes Martin

Hi!! Wondering if the tool you're using to remove the oil filter gets stuck ? I have the same tool and it gets stuck..

Yes it is a bit tight, but it comes off with a bit of pulling👍

Great video. Just for clarification I have a 2018 triumph Bonneville Speedmaster and I’m needing some clarification on how much oil to put in as I am about to change it. I’ve seen some conflicting information. One says 4.5 Litres another says 3.4 liters. Unfortunately my owners manual doesn’t specify or at least I cannot find it. I’m in the states so we go by quarts. Thank you
@big5002 жыл бұрын
Hi D Mac…..oil and filter change 3.4 litres or 3.6 quarts…. I usually put 3 litres in, run the engine, let it settle and top up using the sight glass.👍

Hi I really like your videos In the video - Speedmaster oil change - you are using a book. Is it possible to leave a book number or a link to the book? I have a Speedmaster 2019 but i can't find a printed service or workshop book. Thanks in advance Klaus - Denmark
