I love my Bonneville T120......I"ve ridden Harley baggers for over 40 years and recently a Harley Pan America......but after getting my T120, the other bikes are sitting in the garage a lot more....

I own a 2022 Speedmaster and have big feet. It’s a quick adjustment to raise the peg. As for the handlebars, I came to like them after a short time and I added Motone bar risers which made them more comfortable. Once I learned the lean angle I haven’’t scraped the foot pegs. Like any machine, you develop a relationship.

I recently found your channel, I especially am enjoying your trip report going to Alaska...I think I am on the second video. Nonetheless, enjoyed your test ride demo on Triumph motorcycles, and would highly recommend the Triumph Bonneville T-120 to be added to your fleet! I have had one since 2020, it was my 46th motorcycle purchase, and have to say - it is a classic style bike that is more fun to ride then just about anything else. I have a 2023 BMW R1250Rt and enjoy that bike, but my daily rider is the Triumph, as well as the bike of choice if you just want to get out in the country and mosey down a back road to experience a day thinking about the simple life from times past...you are on the right bike for that!

I am a major Triumph fan. I think it strikes a great balance of quality, reliability, character, soul, and just interesting bikes, I have a Scrambler 1200 XE... which is my go to bike.. at 6'5 fits me great, and what a fun ride. I also have an old 95 Triumph Sprint 900 triple. Love it too. If I was adding another bike, I would be looking at another Triumph. Can't go wrong!

Get the T120. The bike is easy to ride and maintain and compliments the Tiger nicely. Between the T100 and T120, T120 weight a bit more but has ~20 more HP, much better brakes, and a 6th gear which is nice for short highway runs. It's a win with either bike and they highly customizable to meet your needs. I have a 2022 T120 and earlier this year swapped out my GW for a Tiger 900. My Tiger is currently parked in Providence and I'll be back there in two weeks for some NE riding.

I bought a '16 Bonneville T120 as a "stop gap" after totaling my R1200GS (oh deer...). I'm more of a BMW guy, but that little Bonneville seems to now be a permanent fixture in my horde of motorcycles simply because it does what it says on the tin. It's pretty comfortable (especially after I swapped out the seat for a Triumph "Royal" seat), handles well, brakes well and goes well enough for this slow poke. Even has enough oomph with a passenger. It's just a versatile, old school motorcycle. Mine's also been modified somewhat courtesy of a previous owner - the suspension upgrades are nice, and the fact that it's got full luggage makes it a usable touring bike for a long weekend or similar.

I'm also with those that say T120 :). I bought an 18' T120 Black (graphite) almost as soon as I moved back to the States in 18'. Was going to sell it when I bought my Tiger (turns out I haven't ridden it since DGR summer of 23), but I decided to keep it and get it back up to snuff maintenance wise, drain the old gas etc, change brake fluid, new tires. I love the Tiger and it is my main bike, but I really have a soft spot for the T120 as well and will be squeezing it in more... My daughter wants to get a Daytona.

Was smiling/smirking the whole time I was watching your video. Yes, Craig, we are spoiled riding our big Tigers. Powerful, comfy and ready to go anywhere! At 6'4" with a 36" inseam, while I might be interested in adding a stablemate, it is probably not going to happen too soon. The main reason is that I do not bend and contort like I did when is was 28! Love my big Tiger! Ned in SC

I bought a Speedmaster recently and I'm still coming to grips with the riding position. I had the same problem with the shift lever and also the rear brake lever. Both were easily adjusted to fit me but the feet forward business and lack of cornering clearance may be a deal breaker. I should have kept the Speedtwin I traded!, Beautiful looking bike though and sounds marvelous! Thanks for your channel ( the voice of reason!) Cheers from OZ.

The triumph 1200 scrambler is an amazing motorcycle. I’ve never ridden a bike as an older rider that felt better was easier to handle and fit me better, than the scrambler 1200. I’m trying to be patient and find one used with low mileage and minimum accessories/modifications.

Highly recommend the Honda NC750x DCT. Took me about a week to get used to not using a clutch but it’s a great commuter bike. Plenty of power and under $10k new.

Try riding the Speed Twin 900 or 1200. Great bikes! I currently have the 2024 Speed twin 900. Love it. I just lowered the foot pegs and raise the handle bars one inch for me. I’m also looking at getting the Triumph Tiger 900 gt pro next year.

I own a Tiger 850 sport and a t120. Each is a great motorcycle and completely different from one another. The t100 feels essentially the same as it's larger sibling but it is a few pounds lighter. That being said the extra torque and horsepower in the t120 make it the obvious choice especially since it is only slightly more expensive than the junior version

Thanks for the review. Once the wife and i move out of Houston i plan to buy the more premium off road version of the Scarambler 1200. The one you road, the more street version of it im not a fan of. That off road version is a work of art.

I have a Scrambler 1200X same red as the one you rode , I’ve owned over 70 bikes and the 1200X is by far my favourite, the T120 is great as well but feels a little sluggish in comparison due to its heavier crank.

Best wishes finding that bike middle to low displacement ride that does "it" for you. Triumph has a wonderful line up to consider but that 400-900cc market has really stepped up in competition lately. My Venn Diagram over laps yours in the mid controls, wide comfortable bars areas. You lean more ADV, rather than retro naked and I am the other way around. Looking forward to what you pick.
@Road_Rash13 ай бұрын
I think the Scrambler1200 has that Bonneville T120 powerplant. You should try it too! My adv bike is a 2019 Scrambler 1200XE. It is an absolute beast. It is a great complement to my touring bike, Indian Roadmaster. If I ever make a trade move, I would probably replace them both with the Tiger 1200 Explorer GT, lol.

That’s a nice problem to have Craig! Personally I wouldn’t give up on that WR. I have a CRF250L that I use for buzzing around town and back roads and it’s a hoot! It’s so light and nimble yet very capable. I have it set up with heated grips and some other goodies. I’ve thought about getting a larger dual sport but I know I would miss the 250.
@LivingOffTheSlab3 ай бұрын
Yeah, I am still thinking about it. Should I get a set of super-moto wheels for it...? That is another option.
@lowriderrjw3 ай бұрын
@@LivingOffTheSlab They're out there and available for sure. I probably see more for the WR on FB Marketplace than any other bike. Another option is to just put street biased tires on the WR. It will give it a totally different and improved feel on the road. I just did that on my T7 and love it. The 250 dual sports are very modular. They are fun to build out!

Interesting. I currently have a Tiger 850, a T-100 and 400x. All amazing but the T-100 owns my soul!! ❤❤ the Scrambler is just a radically different riding experience which I am enjoying way more than I thought I would. The Tiger is for going distance and man, it works really well!! But the T-100…

I also thought about a Speed Master as well. I knew it was low but didn't think you'd be scraping pegs. Good to know. Got a Daytona Moto2, so no interest in the 660. Junior has a Trident, great little bike. Scramblers, no interest for me. The T120, now that's a bike I'd love. But I've already got a Thruxton RS. If I didn't have that already, I think I'd be looking at the new Speed Twin 1200 RS. But that T120, mmm😊

I miss my last Triumph (2012 Thunderbird). I wish Triumph would make a real bagger to compete with HD and Indian. It might pull me away from my 2022 Indian Chieftain. I've had a lot of quality control issues with the Indian. Moms has been great about getting Indian to warranty all of the issues tho.
