If you are subscribed to many motorcycle channels on YT, it is interesting to see how certain manufacturers promote their bikes. The obvious wave of episodes from the different reviewers talking about the same bike suddenly... I guess there is nothing wrong with that... but it is food for thought ..

Thank you. This has been one of the better and honest reviews I’ve seen. I’m a little bummed that they changed so much from the XC to the X. But thank you for this review

Thanks, Lana for the very detailed review. I’m also not a fan of brown seats with black tank but I guess Triumph must think there is a market for it. Very nice looking machine and I would definitely be a potential buyer, but personally, I don’t need a 1200cc engine for a scrambler style bike. Something around 600 would do me just fine . Lighter, more flickable and easier to handle. Cheers and ride safe, Dan. ✌️🏍🇨🇦

Looks like you had a blast of fun on those green lanes. Amazing bike. Really reminds me of the enduros of the 1970s. My Thruxton R has an allen key tucked behind one of the side covers. Maybe Triumph did the same here. Looks like you have a nice Caterham 7 in the background. Thanks for the real world review. Well done.

Your tool kit is behind the side panel on the LHS. It consists of a combination Allen key with a flat blade screw diver on the other end. At least that what my 2021 "XC" has.

I like it but wish it had the more traditional looking twin clocks with the modern features within them and a larger headlamp (it looks undersized to me). Tempted to have a try on an XE as I have no issues being tall. Love your cat getting in on the action 😀

Lovely review Lana, I like it a lot. Even the X is a big bike for every shorty under 6", but still more accessable that the XE. How big are you? I'm 5'7" with a 32 inch inseam and accualy riding a Speed Twin with nearly the same engine, very torquey, don't need to rev, but if you do you wake the beast. Beeing a 1200 it heats up, specially my knees where leaning at the cylinder head. But the pipe is down, so less heat than the X I suppose. My point: Speed Twin is quite short in suspension travel and bumpy on bad roads. How does the X perform there? Please continue test riding from shorties for shorties!

I still think bikes like that (also Harley Pan America, Yamaha Tenere, Honda Transalp, etc.) are too big to use off road. Once it starts going over 300 lbs. it's more like hard work than fun. The video shows a good example. It's a lot easier to unstick a 300 lbs bike from that rut than it is to unstick a 500 lbs bike. But I suppose hardly anybody is really going to ride a bike like this off road. Especially given the prices, most people who can afford these will probably be older and not so keen on doing man vs machine wrestling matches. There's still nothing any of these bikes can do that a Suzuki DR650 can't do better in the dual sport world.

For those who only have room for one bike and do most of their riding on-road and want something that looks great and is fun to ride, while still being able to rip up the back roads or load up with gear and go camping, scramblers like this are great.
@douglasalexander43483 ай бұрын
Except the Triumph x looks cool as you like, which is really the point of this bike. Being practical, the Suzuki wins by a mile. The Triumph XE more off road version has a lot of considerable weight up high, like a lot of these style bikes.

Hi, isn’t the handle bar a bit more narrow on the X compared to the XE? What is your opinion on that when you driving in higher speeds? Thank you for the good review! 😀

I had a test ride on the X and experienced the same sharp bit on the seat and hot leg and I’m 6’2”, a real shame as there’s was lots I loved about the bike but couldn’t get over those two points.

Perhaps you're 6'2" with a long body and short inseam? I'm 6'3" and don't experience either of the issues you mention. Almost 3k miles up on mine now and nothing but praise for it.

Looks like they neutered the 2023 and earlier "XC" model by stripping off the Brembo brakes, Ohlins shocks, dropped suspension travel an inch, removed cruise control, cheaper screen, and cut back on the tanks paint finishing. It's a no-thanks for me, since they stripped off all the reasons I'd pay $14K for it.

I really don't understand the thinking behind striving to design and make a retro bike, of which Triumph have done a sterling job until it comes to the display! It absolutely hideous, it should be twin analogue clocks. In fact, even the displays on the speed and street triples are awful as well...
