I really miss Philly Throttle. I loved the show because it wasn't all about V-Twins ( like every other motorcycle show ), Adam worked on everything and I found that way more interesting .

Man, you should make a build video on these stator systems for British bikes. Preferably a battery less version. Good info.

Just fitting my Electrex World electronic ignition/alternator as I watch this. It's going on my 1966 Triumph TR6R Bobber project. They make them 20 miles from where I live so I went and picked it up from them.

Had the Electrex system on my B40 brilliant kit. But you try to explain the ac/dc to people and they think you’re mad.

It is fantastic fitted to the Triton works every time can go as fast as I want won’t burn out due to modern voltage control 16.5v, ignitions stressed above 14.5 , and just works. I’ve had a dozen E I units all failed but this just works. Great product for riders

Hi Stuart, would this work on a Pre unit Triumph with magneto?
@stuartosborne30133 жыл бұрын
@@mrchuka afraid not the only pre unit engine it would work in is the Thunderbird fitted with the alternator. This conversion mounts on the three studs the stator uses. But a good mag well sorted is as good as anything. Coil ignition is a poor second choice to a good mag in my experience. Good luck

Hey Stuart, can you tell me exactly what this replaces. I know the points but anything else. Battery too? What about coils, i suppose you need those. 😁
@stuartosborne30132 жыл бұрын
@@pauliebots this is a self contained ignition. It requires no battery to work. The Lucas rotor is replaced and the stator by the new parts that mount on the crank shaft and stator mounting bolts. It has its own twin pole coil and a cdi box that fit nicely under the tank They have an option for light generation but I run total loss LED lights that last for many hours on a single battery charge. The points housing us not used as the stator and rotor are where the ignition is sent from. The Triton is still going strong after many thousands of miles of fast road use. If you can fit an EI system you’ll be able to fit this. The rotor puller is well worth buying in my opinion. Enjoy

Is this based on the Triumph Energy Transfer ignition system that eliminated the battery on the competition models? Last week, I picked up a 1967 Trophy T100C with the original stock ET ignition. I was pleasantly surprised that the bike kickstarted easily and ran fine. I've started it maybe a half dozen times so far and have ridden it only about ten miles total. The tires are extremely dry rotted, but I have replacements lined up for this week. The bike belonged to a vehicle collector who acquired it in the 70s, and I suspect the bike was rarely ridden, as the levers, pegs, underside of frame, and those scrambler pipes are all unblemished. I intend to keep the stock ETI, and planned on searching for NOS/replacement parts for the ETI as back up. Would the Electrex system be a viable upgrade?

Hey man nice to see you again! I was looking for videos to help me fix my 68 triumph (which has magneto charging system) and found you. Fixed the timing, adjusted the amal carb .. nothing seems to work! Just died while riding it during high revs. The sparks looks a bit weak (orange) when kicking it. Please help
