Been testing everything trying to diagnose my non-charging 1976 Honda CB750F/cafe racer. Not only did you help me realize I had the ohms setting wrong but, suggesting injecting 12v into the white wire is genius. Literally did that 5 min ago and my volts came to life revving into the 14v's range. Thank you for this video and your enthusiasm is awesome!!

The aptitude you have for thinking outside the box is so rare now days, im in my mid 30s and work as a trade assistant, we have 20yo kids who have no idea about things and just say "get one from ebay". as if a chinese part will fix the problem and it will but i dont want to fix it with a new part i want to know how to REPAIR the old part. OLD IS GOLD as we say in the workshop.

thank you for the kind words, the shop has closed to the public, we are still building bikes but we have started a trade skills program non=profit called VETMOTO. we mix combat veterans with inner city kids to teach introduction to skills in welding, construction and engine repair. the best of our students will be sponsored to build and race vintage bikes in the nationwide vintage race series with AHRMA. and we also have a sidecar racing team,,, all the best, Adam. you are welcome to visit if in our area,

The Honda 550 K was the smoothest bike I ever owned. Not sure why its engine felt so different from my 750F. I'd love to know why you say it's similar to the Honda 550. Sounds like it would be an absolute beast!

Is this based on the Triumph Energy Transfer ignition system that eliminated the battery on the competition models? Last week, I picked up a 1967 Trophy T100C with the original stock ET ignition. I was pleasantly surprised that the bike kickstarted easily and ran fine. I've started it maybe a half dozen times so far and have ridden it only about ten miles total. The tires are extremely dry rotted, but I have replacements lined up for this week. The bike belonged to a vehicle collector who acquired it in the 70s, and I suspect the bike was rarely ridden, as the levers, pegs, underside of frame, and those scrambler pipes are all unblemished. I intend to keep the stock ETI, and planned on searching for NOS/replacement parts for the ETI as back up. Would the Electrex system be a viable upgrade?

WOW,....blast from the past. I owned a new S-90 in '65 in the 9th grade. Had a paper route in order to pay for it......$32 per month and my parents co-signed. Loved that bike. And fast for it's time. Eventually bought a 160cc (never the Dream) several years later after graduation. Thank you for making this video,....I actually felt that all thought of the S-90 was forgotten to history.

Actually, Honda called it "S90 Super Sport", not "s90 super 90". I know because I bought my red S90 in December 1966 and I still have the Honda brochure for the 1966 S90.

I owned a 1964 CA200 from 1966 to 1975. While most cars (Except for Chrysler cars) and all other motorcycles had generators, my little Honda 90 had an alternator and a full synchromesh 4 speed transmission. No vehicle today, car or bike, still uses a generator.
