I found that leaving the key in the fuel cap while fueling helps. Can`t go anywhere until the tank is properly locked then. I`d love to get mine set up but there is nowhere here in Jersey that does it. Still on the factory settings.

I had mine properly set up and made a big difference. (2017 Thruxton 1200R) I had the opposite problem where my front was too soft and felt like I was going over the handlebars when stopping. Now it is balanced, handles great and very hard to upset. The most enjoyable motorcycle I've owned.

Good on ya, mate! That's always one of the 1st. Modifications to ANY 'new to you' motorcycle. If it can be set up wrong (for you), it will be! Some bikes are harder to get right & sometimes a single click is the difference between jarring & supple? No, I have no idea why that happens, either! I get really frustrated when it's rock hard or won't turn in, or, is scary in the curves (front/rear 'fighting' w/ each other! Finally, moving the whole spring assembly higher/lower to get the bike properly stanced along w/ raising/lowering both front forks as needed. Both are fiddly, I'm a perfectionist, so, I guess I'm willing to have the proper adjustments completed & increase enjoyment for the long term.

I actually started to dislike it and then realised I only had 15psi in front tire. Now its my go to bike in the garage over my KTM. Where are you?

Great feedback thanks, I am tossing up between the Triumph 1200 Speed Twin and the Truxton RS, prefer the looks of the RS but the stiff suspension for the road is putting me off, interested your your thoughts.

I find the suspension perfect for the road although I did get it set up for my weight etc. Have done a 800 miles since I bout it and love the ride

So I may be late with comment! Steve I know u were talking about getting bar risers for this. I am struggling to find the clip where u were talking about this so I thought I would just ask - did u do that? I'm asking because I want to fit the dolphin fairing to my bike which has the raised bars as standard and Triumph will only sell it to me with the lower bars as they say it restricts movement at full lock otherwise. Can u help? Do the risers result in restricted movement? Cheers, Steve.

Hi no problem. I fitted the clip ons directly from the Thruxton naked and onto my RS cafe racers with no issues what soever. They were the triumph oem ones and not to expensive although I did pay th3 dealer to fit as wasn't a straight forward mod. Hope this helps
