That dirty screen really got me going. The answer for clear screens (cars and bikes) is Rain-X or similar. if you use it in your screenwash regularly, you can drive at 70-80 mph/110-130 km/h in heavy rain without using your wipers because the water instantly beads off the screen surface. I'm convinced there'd be fewer crashes in wet weather if everybody used water repellent screenwash because of the enhanced visibility. Benefits for bike screens are not quite so acute of course because you can see over and round the screen but it's got to be good to have a very clear screen. Anyway, this Pyrenees tour is absolutely excellent viewing and the camera positioning is really perfect giving the viewer a real sense of actually being on the bike.

Great vid, Bruce. Another classic TPO run. I'm still torn between the Tiger XRT and the GS TE, and can't wait until this lockdown is done so I can get that one last test ride decider done. I know you're pro-GS, but the Tiger looks competitive and I'd prefer to stay British (ok, part Thai 😉). The trip through the Pyrenees will be on the list, though we've a run along the E6 from Trelleborg to the Russian border to do first.

Beautiful ride. Cracking video. Just a little recommendation not far from this area (limiting Burgos and Vizcaya-Biscaia provinces), for those enjoying nature views: Mirador del Nervión or Salto del Nevión. A little beautiful waterfall 200 meters high. After heavy rain there should be a lot of water falling. After some weeks without rain it can get dry. Access by a trail ending in some parking areas. It's a shame that you britons don't know nothing about hundreds of hidden natural hotspots in Spain.

@@teapotone Thanks! You also helped me a bit with the discision with looking into a r1200GS(A) or Explorer, Good that you mentioned that the Triumph is topheavy. You also seemed abit out of comfort with some turns looking at your vids with the GS
@teapotone4 жыл бұрын
Yes I just couldn’t ride the Tiger initially, It really didn’t feel planted into the bends, probably due to it being heavier up-top, and also having traditional front forks as apposed to the BMW. However later in this series I figure out you need to ride it more like an enduro bike - you keep your body more upright and throw the bike into the corner rather than lead with your head/body - it totally transformed the bike for me and was a lot more fun. It still didn’t totally gel with me though I must admit 👍

Please bring down the volume level of the intro. Every time I scramble for the volume when it comes on before someone in the house yells at me. Way too loud compared to the video, keep the levels of music relatively close to the narration. Music contains a lot more frequencies than voice and wind, therefore music seems louder to the ear. Heres a poor analogy. Lets say you had 2 tree branches that represented your voice and wind, and you cut them at a certain level. Then you add music, 12 branches. What you are doing is cutting them at the same level as the other two. However its a 12 to 2 ratio so you have to cut the 12 branches lower than the other two to compensate for the greater amount of branches. In FCPX You can show the levels meter in the timeline. I suggest voice etc, on bike sound, not go over 0 decibels. For music it should not got over -6 decibels. Yes music can be slightly louder in your video but you dont want big peaks and valleys of loud music and soft narration.
@Jonas_Fager4 жыл бұрын
Spot on!
@teapotone4 жыл бұрын
Cheers, I do actually use the audio levels but set it to a max of -3db for voice and never more than 0 for music - obviously I now know that’s too loud. I’ll be working at around a max of -4db now and less for music

@garphield4 жыл бұрын
@@teapotone I love your videos, but unfortunately I've also had to resort to skipping the sections with music. The music (any music these days) is compressed to the nth degree - that means a music track that peaks at -3db will be perceptually massively louder than spoken work peaking at the same level, even though the audio signal of the two has technically the same strength. Put a bit of compression on your spoken word/camera sound (you can do that in Premiere as an audio effect) and always mix the music lower than your voice, that should fix the issues.
