After a couple of months these are my thoughts about the motorcycle. I might want to rewatch this video before I choose my next bike.
If you ride an ADV, is a light/pretty numb feeling front wheel typical for the adv segment? Is it tire related? or bike specific/suspension set up?

Did you consider the tiger sport 660 before buying? Im currently on a transalp 700 which i love but thinking of upgrading to something a bit newer and sportier. The two tigers have really caught me eye. Great video btw

Love my 850 sport, best all round bike I’ve owned and that’s over 50 bikes! Have had 5 Triumph triples, this is the best yet!

I' m looking hard at this model, and the Moto Guzzi V85TT for almost exactly the same reasons as you, Thanks for your YT content and comments at the end of this video!

Great video. After owning a Sprint 1050ST, 2 x Tiger 1050's plus a Street Triple 675R & 765RS I now own a Tiger 850 Sport and there are 2 noticeable differences. First is that the turbine smooth triple engines are replaced by the T plane crank triple, more low rev torque like a twin but some vibes at high revs. Second is the 19" front wheel with a 100/90 Anakee Adventure Road/Off road tyre. The steering is not as fast as a 120x70x17 front and the Tiger 850 runs wider out of corners under power with a 19" wheel, plus the tyres are narrower so the rider confidence and grip is a little less when braking or cornering fast. As I have no intention of riding off road, I will replace the Anakee's with Sport Touring tyres, but even a Sport Touring 100x90x19" will never feel like a 120/70x17 to the rider.

Running wide out of a turn has nothing to do with a 19” front wheel and everything to do with a softly set shock. I’ve had the same issue with a Y2K R1 and a T7 (21” wheel)heavier spring or increased preload cured it. You don’t need wide tyres to carry big lean angles in a turn either…look at GP 125 lean angles

I think tyre choice has a huge bearing on front end feel. Michelin Road 6 is available in 110/80/19 which is only 2mm difference in height. Worth considering when you replace the oems. Bear in mind it's never going to handle like a sports bike.....but would you want to ride two up, with luggage around europe on a sports bike?

I had mine for 7 months and 5000 miles now. I totally agree that the only flaw is the numb front end during high front load with deeper lean, but like you said it’s an ADV bike so it’s expected. I also found out a more exaggerated body position in lean helps reduce the bike lean angle and load the bike a bit more and it helps fix the numbness a little bit. So go ride your Tiger GP style!

8000 mile update: crank the rear preload! That’s how we can cheat the rider triangle and get a slightly shorter trail number practically, it makes the front end feel noticeably more direct, I’m 170lb and my rear preload is max -3 full turn, no luggage rider alone

i just got one and I love it. i hear you about the hard breaking. and the front wheel is a bit thin, so that could change in the future. but overall it's a great bike

The large front wheel, typical of adventure bikes to suggest that they are all-rounders, is stable in a straight line but less agile in cornering, an effect especially noticeable at higher speeds. I doubt that many such bikes are ever used off road, particularly in Europe where there is not much opportunity to do so. Maybe form has displaced function in the buying decisions of owners.

I have just clocked in 750 km in 1.5 months ownership of my new Tiger 850. I am happily becoming more and more expert and confident handling the bike. However, 1) i agree that the front wheel lacks some feel and communication when cornering - doesnt inspire full confidence. Could not quite point out why, could be any combo of - Anakee 80:20 type tyre, 19" rim, 100 mm width, geometry/mechanical, etc. 2) another complaint is the bike's relative instability in wide open expressway with the wind blowing. Even underbones of

I have done a couple long highway journeys and I haven't really noticed instability at 120 - 140 kph (indicated) maybe tire pressure or alignment? and I am a Belgian citizen so i suspect it's a country/ regional availability thing...

Riding fast with this bike is kind of challenge, of what i see on internet, do you try to setting hard the front and rear suspensions ?

Have you ridden a Ducati 950 or V2? How does the Tiger 850 compare? Why did you buy the 850, instead of the 900?
