Triumph Trident 660 | Zard Exhaust | Quickshifter

Recently installed the ZARD exhaust for the Trident 660. Sounds really good paired with the quick shifter. The bike is not tuned yet and has the stock intake filter. Looking to do those both in the future. For now, enjoy the sweet triple sound.

This exhaust sounds so good! The 660 is on my shortlist and I actually visited my local Triumph dealer this morning and looked at the 660 in the matt black as well as this colour scheme (Silver Ice Diablo)...I thought I was sold on the matt black but when the sales guy took the silver/grey one into the sunlight I was sold.

Hey all, Thanks for the love! Unfortunately, winter in Oregon means No riding. If interested, I'll make a video once the weather warms up now that the bike is tuned, with the intake filter. Maybe I'll share some thoughts on it. Also, ill get it up higher in the RPMs next video

dude.. that sounds so sick. I have been researching the Trident and the Honda cb650r. I'm 50/50 on what to buy as my first ever bike. This sound from that Zard exhaust might just tilt me towards the Triumph. Any insight between the 2 bikes I mentioned?

Thank you! I have no insight on the CBR however I do know its a good bike. It wasn't on my list when I was looking at middle weight bikes, pretty sure it was due to price (And finding one) But they look awesome. I was trying to find a MT07 but randomly stumbled upon the trident. Went to see it, ended up test riding it, and left with it. IMO I really think the trident dominates in this class in terms of Build quality, Technology, and looks. Last is subjective but I would simply just go ride the two!

@@dimitrismanos3559 I just bought the Trident. :) For me it came down to the triple vs the inline 4. Trident just has a lot more usable power in the lower rev range which is suited for commuting and getting around which is my focus. It's my first ever bike, I'll ride it for 2 years and then get what I really want - a Street Triple.

Sounds great but I'm just wondering why no one made the exhaust which also looks good. A great example is Akrapovic Titanium on the Yamaha MT-07. Sounds great and looks beautiful as well.

Looks are all opinions. I think the zard is the best looking out of the bunch. It’s difficult because the trident doesn’t have any underbody covers. (Beside the weird skid plate things) that why I went black to somewhat hide it.

My black coated zard exhaust for my 660 is defective. #1 down pipe does not line up with 2 and 3 when I mocked it up before installation. Waited 4 weeks to get this, took my stock exhaust off, expected this to go okay. Thought I could flex the assembly some to get it but the fabrication error from zard is too much to overcome. Very disappointed with zard. My Dad was a fuel line development engineer for Pratt & Whitney. I know about tubing fabrication.

Im sorry you had all those issues. I bought mine second hands and I think some of the pipes are slightly bent where they connect to the adapters on the block as I have a slight slight leak. The tolerances are really really tight on this exhaust, which made it hell to install. Eventually I got it.

Ive tried the chin mount, you can see in my older videos. Next season ill have another camera mounted on the bike somewhere for more angles. Along with a better mic :)

I ran the harness from the swing arm mounted plate, back to under the seat. Then drilled two holes and mounted some amazon turn signals using the OEM harness

Hard to tell in videos of course but is it loud to the point of being annoying (IE needing to wear plugs while riding)? I want something louder than stock but I dont want something that doesnt suit the speed of the bike if that makes sense

Its pretty loud, even with the DB killer in. Its a good type of loud tho. Nice when cruising, loud when you're on it. The 3cyl bikes are a higher pitch anyway so that rumble that hurts most peoples ears doesn't really exist. I think the sound matches the speed as its not a "slow" bike per say. Tbh I think the sound is fitting. I had a BMW g310r with an Akro, and the sound for sure did not match the speed of that bike haha.

my 2 cents, yes you probably would need to wear earplugs if doing long rides like 2hr etc, possibility of temporary deafness without plugs on long rides on highways

@@SuperRider-RS I wear ear plugs even with the stock exhaust. It's a much more relaxing ride. Reduces wind noise and any harsh sounds coming from the engine. I learned my lesson after seeing my dad lose a lot of his hearing from riding loud Harley Davidsons for years.

Thanks! For the plate I bought a DIY kit off eBay, and had a piece welded. For the Turnsignals, I just re routed the harness from the OE tail back up to under the seat, and used some Amazon Micro LED turn signals. www.ebay.com/itm/223486313035

Sorry for the late reply! No problems with the quick shifter on my end. Its a must have mod. The levers I have currently are the Evotech shorties. I had the TEK ones prior. Both are great, I just wanted shorter ones to make it feel like a dirt bike haha

Fully depends on how much you ride. Havent changed the oil yet but will after winter is over. I put in the DNA filter when I tuned it so that's done. Other than that its just your basic chain cleaning/lubrications. Low maintenance bike!
