I have tried this bike few month ago...is magic ! 🤩And I m not a beginer or a new rider. But I don't understand the choice of a 180 rear tyre on this bike...I think a 160 would be enough and even if the Trident is flickable and nimble, the fun factor would be even better with a 160 rear😀 For example, the 1200 speed twin got a 160...and is heavier and powerfull. I m wondering beetween this two bikes to replace perhaps my 900 RS 😉

Glad the white SUV at 11:14 didn't pull out, Eddie - they certainly thought about it! This bike is lovely apart from the mudguards. The front one is ridiculously short & doesn't keep any muck off - look at the stripe up the middle of the rad. And the rear mudguard hanger assembly not only looks horrible IMO, but other KZbinrs have reported it doesn't keep the wet off the bike or your back! Fix those two issues, Triumph and I'm in.
@EddieSetGo3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the mudguards are a little 'decorative' Hugh, aren't they! I didn't get a chance to really ride it in the wet. The rear guard is nice from the side, but does look a little weird when riding behind one. I prefer my mudguards/plate higher up the back!

I am very torn between this bike and the yamaha mt09 sp. I know the yamaha is much better but then again I can save a little bit money if I go for the trident and just invest the remaining money on something else, that is the only reason why I am considering the trident is because of the price. I am upgrading from a ninja 400. I will be using the motorcycle mainly for commute on the freeway doing 80-85mph, 40 mins each way, no track days, will only be my one and only bike. Please advise, knowing you have the mt09sp too. I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

That's a heck of a statement considering i doubt you ever rode one. Why better ?. Personally I wouldnt buy a bike I'm not happy with. Not much cash then buy a 500 Honda or something if you cant afford much. Why buy a bike you believe you dont like

Great review. Nice to hear someone really enjoying the ride rather than saying it's a beginner's bike. I test rode one in Paris and loved it, so much so that I've ordered one. I think that the limitations are not down to the bike these days, but more the speed limits, traffic and roads. Unfortunately I"ve got to go far to enjoy any twisties!
@jadonx Жыл бұрын
Definitely not a beginner bike unless they restrict it. I'm trading my Royal enfield meteor in for a trident 660. The meteor I would call a beginner bike.

Really solid review. You seemed to totally love it. Funny you mentioned the street twin. It’s between trident and street twin. Very different look between the two. But both pull me in a strong way. Will have to test them soon. If you had to pick for first bike. Which would it be and why.

Thank you very much. I really enjoyed making the Trident review and it really lived up to the hype. This or the Street Twin - it's a tough choice! There's something special about the Street Twin though... it's a timeless looking bike with so many mod options.

@@EddieSetGo :D not in 3:35, well except for the helmet ;). Nice video thought. But I'm not surprised that you ended up with MT-09 SP, it will probably be my exact route as well. Started with thoughts about Honda CB650R, then Triumph Trident (too hard and stiff to my liking), MT-07 but I hopped on MT-09 and couldn't go back and now because there are not standard version in stock anywhere, well not soon enough. I will probably end up with MT-09 SP. Which is actually a good thing :D

Silly whooping sounds, engine thrashing and down-shifting, badly, to 2nd for a bend you could take in 4th. This 'review' doesn't tell me anything about the bike and more about the reviewer. 'TRIUMPH' take note. At 7.07 I couldn't bear listening to the far too low down-shifting and pointless engine thrashing anymore. All rather immature really....."loads of grunt, blimey" ...appalling !
