A band with fantastic musicians, underestimated, just because they were Canadian and lived unfairly in the shadow of Rush. For me, one of the best rock bands of all time
@andrewcharles4593 жыл бұрын
Oh, I don't know about that. They got their first really big boost in Texas, not Canada, when they subbed for Sammy Hagar. Their first show in San Antonio was so successful the audience refused to leave. They did something like three encore sets, and the last one was in their street clothes. Pretty amazing considering they weren't even the band people had paid to see.

@ChrisLonsberryMedia3 жыл бұрын
I don't know if they were really underestimated. Certainly not by fans. Nor do I think it was just because they were Canadian. Geez.. talented people seem to be one of Canada's main exports. But, in general, I don't think they got the same kind of acclaim that Rush did. I'm sure there was a soup of reasons. Marketing. Material. Rush had a string of very interesting concept albums. They had the advantage of that exposure from WMMS, which proved to be a boost for several acts. Hard to say, especially from out here in the audience. But those of us who know... KNOW.

THUNDER 7 is one of the best ROCK albums ever! The TIME thread line throughout is amazing, plus the guitar and vocal works. THUNDER 7 was my music retreat when I was recovering from a catastrophic Traumatic Brain Injury, TBI. I survived being shot twice in the head in 1984. Music was and is the main component in my Brain Injury recovery. I'm now 38 years post-injury, still playing TRIUMPH in my JEEP with the top down. TOP Down, Tunes Up, no worries.

@brandonholmes865510 ай бұрын
@@davidrichter9164 Considering those groups sold as many albums as they did - and still are - and Triumph didn't (but should have), I'd say they are underrated. That's how I used the word. I didn't use it as anything derogatory or negative. I'm as big a fan as there is and value Triumph as a band and Rik, Gil and Mike as individual musicians as well as people, too.
@davidrichter91648 ай бұрын
@brandonholmes8655-- Sorry about that. I wasn't trying to be a jerk towards you, just trying to make a bit of a point about the use of the word "underrated" Triumph definitely deserves more credit and accolades than they have. There's no way that triumph should not be in the Rock and roll Hall of Fame already ! That is a travesty! These guys were so good and so inspirational, and the lyrics were always so positive it's amazing !I saw them on the Thunder 7 tour it was at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, California. They sounded as good as their albums, they are obviously great musicians who put in a lot of time and effort growing up to play the music they did they made it look easy, that was not easy. I have been a drummer / guitar player/piano player my whole life. But my my main instruments the drums I could play these songs in high school because of course I could take the time to write them out and copy everything Gil Morre did. I attempted to sing spellbound and play at the same time I think I got time goes by down quite good, but try even finding local musicians and I'm from Stockton California that could play that was not easy.I can still sing all of those songs every lyric by heart! I want to say thank you to Rik Emmet , Mike Levine, and Gil Moore for being a great band, for being great musicians, and for giving us their love of music! This was filmed after the show in Providence, RI. They played the song live during the concert and sounded awesome. For the video the were lip syncing to the studio track. I think they ran through it about six times. I had second row for the show and am in the crowd somewhere. They filled the front with women before shooting the video. I think some of the crowd shots are from during the concert and not the video. A lot of people left, they moved everybody down to fill in as much as possible. They used lighting or lack of it to hide the areas where there were no people. The placed was packed for the concert though. It was a cool experience watching and being part of them making the video. Always loved this band, killed it live everytime. They didn't get the credit they deserve.

Wow, it's cool to see this video after so many years. I was there when they filmed it at the Providence Civic Center. A lot of the shots were taken during the show. Afterwards, they asked the people that were still hanging around if they wanted to be in the video. So, they had everyone come down from the nose bleed seats, where I was, and fill up the floor. They moved all the ladies up front.... of course. I think they ran through the song maybe 4 times. They were lip syncing but, it was still cool to see how it was done.

One Of The Greatest Rocknroll Bands In History. BAR NONE: Regardless of Location. The Talent N This Band Borders Mind Boggling. Such Rocknroll Purists. It's sad what happened really. I just did 38bmonths in Prison for something I didn't do. Your music was only a thought away and just the thought of your music helped me through, gave me hope, andcfueled my inspiration. Work Out Your Differences Like Grown Folks and Get Back Together for a Reunion Tour.

This album is a hidden gem. Stranger In A Strange Land, Midsummer's Night Dream, Little Boy Blues, and this song have stood the test of time.

This song (like many others is so awesome) but what I love about this video is that they are looking like they are having so much fun!

Imagine you're not just amazing musicians but you have some of the highest vocal ranges in rock n' roll too! Unreal.

Absolutely one of my favorite tunes by them, and a big part of it that I love the harmony of the vocals, and the drummer has a great voice

Hey Bonnie if one day you're sitting there thinking and suddenly you remember that I really loved this song. While you're reminiscing about the good times we had, maybe, just maybe you'll google Follow your heart and see this comment. I Love You Always now and Forever.

I've fought for them to be 8nducted into the US Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. They've done very well with recognition in Canada

It's the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (with a buncha crap r&b and rap artists)," not the "Rock and Roll Hall of Excellence."
