My first Rajdhani journey was on 1997, Patna to Delhi. Before that I just used to see 2301/2302 skipping Asansol all the time. The blue WAP1 was mostly dedicated to Shatabdi Express. Thank you from refreshing the memory.

Just checking..hazrathnizamuddin to agra can't travel time was 5 minutes shy ofn2 hrs...those days! Current trains take between 1hr 50 mnts ( shatabdi) to 3 hrs 15 mnts for other express..we did not add any speed on this route since then!?

Awesome shoot sir, nowdays rail fans has well equipped with good cameras, but u have started it when the people even doesn't knew it. The people even didn't afford the camera to shoot . You did it. Amazing! Thanks for uploading the entire uncut, unedited raw footage! In today's Rajdhanis there are mismatched EOGs and loco, and they look just the same as every other LHB train. How cool would it be if all Rajdhani rakes and locos could be painted in a special Rajdhani livery, like they did with the Deccan Queen?!

Classic Rajdhani express. I miss this colour combination. Today Rajdhani Express looks like normal ordinary Express train.

Nice to see so many mail/express trains like Chattisgarh and Kalinga Utkal having Maroon liveried bogies along with being hauled by matching Liveried WAM 4. Just wished to see some TATA WAM 4 hauling mail/express trains having only or maximum number of Cream-Brown liveried coaches.

Fascinating actually. So they cooked food for entire train in the pantry? And nice to see aluminium foils back then. I clearly remember being served food on those chambered steel plates in Doon Express back in 2002.

Such an amazing video, thank you for sharing these. I always loved WAP4 class electric locomotives especially the one here. Such a beautiful design, it has such a neat covering between both the co-co bogies of the locomotive (at 0.05) giving it an aerodynamic profile. Even todays WAG9 (Designed by ABB), WAG12 (Alstom) & WAG 13 (Siemens Mobility) do not have such a neat design language. I feel Indian Railways should also spend some amount on design, aesthetics, fit & finish of the exteriors. Even if we look at the NCR HSRL & Vande Bharat, they do look like trains meant to be running between 140 to 180 KmPh primarily because of the design. We may have a long way to go to even come close to German ICE's or French TGV's. During the 90's & 2000's there were different colour schemas for different liveries which we do not see any more.

Wow! Those ICF coaches are a little bit different from some of the today's ICF rajdhani coaches also it's written as Air conditioned in full form also vestibules were different I think new type of vestibules came in 2000s.

I was not even aware that there was single line on Chambal section. Also train speed was fabulous at that time it reached Mathura in 1.10 hrs and Agara in 2.10 hrs. Amazing time that was thanks sir.

Ahhhh...kya baat hai. Classic Rajdhani coaches with their designated power WAP1. MTJ, AGC skip with honking, mast din bana diya isne. These old Raj and Shatabdi coaches used to make a loud hissing sound when brakes were applied. However, in the later ones this sound was missing.
