The thermal stack of the Kovur Thermal Power plant visible behind the Navajeevan Express at 11:33 doesn't seem to exist anymore! The power plant was shut down in 2006. Looks like the tower has either collapsed, or has been brought down.
@hbpclasses18293 жыл бұрын
yes the tower was brought down in mid 2013 my maternal grandpa worked there as an engineer from 1940s to 1990s and I visited that plant when I was 3 yrs in 2003 as a trip to his office. Those are some memories to cherish. Even though I didn't understand a single technical item my grandpa explained back then it was worth a visit. I never thought it will be my first and last visit to that plant.😢

Mani Anna. But why is that the Trivandrum Raj couldn't take the gudur renigunta arakkonam byepass katpadi route?
@ManiVijay4 жыл бұрын
Good question! The reason is that the TVC Raj was an extension of the Madras Rajdhani till TVC. After this extension, another Madras Rajdhani was introduced on a different slot (which is the predecessor the present Chennai Rajdhani).

Till some year...not sure which..Karnataka Express would come all the way to Gudur, then take the line to Renigunta (16:33), and then onto the Madras-Bangalore line at Arakkonam. Possibly this was only when it was Karnataka Kerala (KK) Express.
@ManiVijay6 жыл бұрын
I think Karnataka got diverted via SC-Raichur in 1985 or so.
@hbpclasses18293 жыл бұрын
At 17:45 if you compare between 1995 and present there are two changes, 1) a level crossing has been made 2) an over bridge has been made just above the level crossing. Shows how the area has been developed in the past decade or so.

I think during those days the tracks to Visakhapatnam were not electrified, you should have captured entry to Vijayawada from the other side, where tracks from Visakhapatnam join. However the same tracks will take till Chennai. At pf 6 of Vijayawada I see a desiel train going to Visakhapatnam from Kazipet.

Sir the title of the video says Trivandrum Rajdhani. But it seems to be Chennai Rajdhani. Correct me if i am wrong :D
@sahilaroraa2223 жыл бұрын
The train was earlier started as Chennai rajdhani in 1993 then extended to Trivandrum BUT when Konkan line became operational in 1997, this rajdhani was diverted via Kota BRC MADGAO & then in late 1997 Chennai rajdhani was introduced again.🙏🏻🙂
@manjusaji40345 жыл бұрын
it is tvc rajdhani express or else chennai rajdhani
@ManiVijay5 жыл бұрын
It was introduced as Chennai Rajdhani and got extended to TVC, so became TVC Rajdhani. Then, they introduced another Chennai Rajdhani. Later, the TVC Raj got rerouted via KR.

Deeply disappointed. I was eagerly waiting for this part to get a glimpse of how Coro would have looked during mid-90s (especially in video). Alas... it wasn't meant to be. The crossing passenger train at 7:27 (on the other side of the goods train), also skipping Bitragunta could have been the Coro, the timing kind of matches. But couldn't get a glimpse of a single coach of that train. What a pity :(. This video left me very depressed. The likelihood of seeing a video of Coro running during mid-90s is now gone.
@ManiVijay6 жыл бұрын
I can sympathize with you. I also wanted to capture Coro badly. I, too, feel that the train skipping Bitragunta was the Coro, since I did not meet it earlier or later. Have you have seen my Coro videos from Jan 2000? You can find them here - kzbin.info?search_query=2842+coromandel+mani+vijay

@@ManiVijay Please don't get me wrong, Mani. Your videos are priceless. Feel tremendous gratitude that you recorded these videos from that era, and are posting them here for the joy of everyone. It was just that immediately after watching this video, I couldn't control my anguish (as absurd and ungrateful as it might be sounding) which is when I posted my above comment. I am very glad that you captured TN, GT, Kerala & Karnataka from the 90s.

This was before KR was commissioned, so Trivandrum Rajdhani used to go via Nagpur-Madras. In fact, it was an extension of the Madras Rajdhani to Trivandrum.
@kashmonyklik4 жыл бұрын
29hrs and 45mts. In comparison to the current Rajdhani schedule, this train was faster in the NZM JHS BPL section. Once allotted LHB rakes a similar run time (30 to 30.5hrs) can be given to Tamil Nadu express.
