#70 is a bit confusing. Chamberlain declared war on Germany in Sep 1939 and was prime minister for the first 8 months of the war. He was replaced by Churchill in May 1940 who then made that statement. So it wasn’t exactly at the start.

The first months of the war were the-war-that-wasn't-a war; nothing much visibly happened until about April/May 1940. Perhaps that was what the quiz means by "at the start"? A number of the questions are weird anyway, like the repeated ones in slightly different format, and those that have the answers within the questions!!

Sort of demeaning, some questions were so simple minded that I was waiting for What year was the war of 1812? Some were incorrect, Harper Lee was white, Churchill was not PM at the beginning of WWII, George Orwell was a British citizen only and he died in 1950. The Numerous repeat questions were not enjoyable. Maybe cut back on the number of questions and do more research.

Little known fact, the War of 1812 was fought in 1932, lasted 12 days and was over a brothel built at 1812 Lexington Ave, Concord NJ. I know because me grandpa fought in it! He was Captain of the 13th Brigade.

@@wz0hjd No, the War of 1812 went from 1812 to 1815. We declared war on Great Britain, the WH was burned and Washington,DC sacked by the British. The only war fought in 1832 was US against Black Hawk, 2 tribes against the US army. No brothels involved in either engagement.
