Bob Eubanks who host Trivia Trap for One season went on to host another Mark Goodson game show Card Sharks from 1986-1989 on CBS.

I can't believe it's been thirty years ago today in which this show aired. Bob Eubanks doesn't look all that different today.

ABC put this show up against NBC's "Wheel of Fortune" and the second half hour of CBS's "The Price is Right." What could possibly go wrong?

Eventually three of Trivia Trap's sound effects would be used on 1987's "Classic Concentration", 1988's "Family Feud" and 1987's "The Price is Right's Pathfinder".

Nice one to close out this one with a BANG!!! This was the one that GSN should've ran the final episode of "Trivia Trap" . Many of the episodes of this show was on GSN during its rotation. I love the sound where you got it wrong was also used in "Pathfinder" on the "Price is Right" where a contestant step on a wrong number, but that was cool.

YEEEEEESSSSSSSS! An original ABC, non-GSN broadcast episode of Trivia Trap! And it's the series finale episode to boot, too! You sir are a god!

Even though this is the show's final episode, Bob Eubanks didn't announced the game show (All-Star Blitz) and Bob Hilton did not do the contestant plug for that game show that's replace it.

I think I've seen Jeff from the Juniors team on the later version of Card Sharks hosted by Eubanks.

Bob probably only gets choked up if a show lasts for more than two years.

Trivia Trap in the Ames/Des Moines, IA area was on Channel 5 WOI-TV, I'm not sure if it was in 1985, I don't have an Iowa edition TV Guide from 1985. I have one from 1984, I'll have to look and see. Thanks for the upload!

Which, in turn, was replaced by Bruce Forsyth's Hot Streak, and later, Double Talk, then Bargain Hunters and finally, ABC's final daytime game show to date, Match Game!

I don't understand.... that they could get a shot at the audience shaking hands with Bob during the credits on the finale

I like how, immediately before Katie says "American," at 17:25 someone in the audience says "American" and is hushed repeatedly.

I actually like the first Trivia Trap format better. Yeah, I know there were some people out there didn't like it, but that's what made TT so different from other game shows, as you had to pick the wrong answers as opposed to the right ones. When they changed the format, it became just another game show.

After this, Mark Goodson would not try another unique format until he pitched TKO to ABC in 1989. It's a shame that one didn't sell; from what I've read, the format was a combination of Blockbusters, Jeopardy!, and Hit Man.

The biggest problem I have with the show was the panto-like audience, hollering or booing at every question. Very annoying, sometimes leads the contestants to the wrong answer, and just felt like those trash talk shows.
