@vadont and that is why there are gold metal detectors? and so far i own one for 3 years and found 7 major gold nuggets ranging from 7grams-8.47oz. you cannot detect gold sand, thats what kind of gold mostly is refined and mined, but gold nuggets and gold jewelery is detectably, try to put a gold ring to a metal detector and what happens?

@koliars 1 tonne of ore = 6 grams of pure gold. Looks like a bad ratio 2000:12. However Gold is found in most Base metal ores, in a lesser quantity. Copper ore gold content range is 0.07 g/t to 1.6 g/t, with copper going into 300-600 g/t. When we refine all the other metal ores we get a little gold on the side, including silver too, so its not all that bad.

@Aigob2007 Gold can be made. Elements can be combined with particle accelerators to make gold. Lots of elements on the periodic table can ONLY be made, since they don't exist in nature.

The other day I was at zales and the lady was trying to show me a tungsten ring. I was like no I want gold or platinum and she told me she gets that all the time. There are only 4 precious metals Gold, silver, platinum and palladium . The others are only pushed by shops who want to sell a worthless metal for big money so they can make allot.
