Will there be enough copper for all the EVs that are planned for the future? Especially the VTOL?
@RNP6910 ай бұрын
EV'S are dead !
@matthewbrook768310 ай бұрын
The Answer is nope. But its not the copper in the EVs that is the issue. In order to be able to switch only 50% of the US car fleet over to EVs it would double the energy transportation requirements in the US, ie power transmission lines. Which would consume the equivalent of all of the worlds copper consumption for the next 10 years, and thats just for the US without Europe or anywhere else or considering other uses of copper. There are few studies out there about this issue. Even if there were enough lithium there is not enough copper. Large copper discoveries are going down and the overall head grades of copper, % of copper in the rock, are going down progressively over years. Spoiler. I have worked in building mining projects for 30 years mostly on coper and gold projects.

Brilliant! Thank you Lord Gizmo for sharing this important and informative video on copper. I hope and prayer that our several rich copper, gold, silver, minerals & LNG mines in Papua New Guinea are processed in Papua New Guinea to finished products i.e. high efficient electric motors for all industries, especially for electric propulsion and in electric cars and we are able to start manufacturing our very own electric cars, electric trucks, electric buses, electric drones, electric outboard motors and electric aircrafts in Papua New Guinea. If there is any reputable down-streaming Companies out there please contact me as I put in political mechanisms in place to form a new Government in 2027 in Papua New Guinea to make the environment conducive to down- stream all our rich mineral mines. Greetings from Madang, Papua New Guinea.

Bougainville has opted to take Independence from Papua New Guinea & a United Nations conducted Referendum with well over 99% optioned for Independence, mainly because they are not receiving their fair share of funding & maybe the copper, gold & other minerals are not down-streamed to finished products to create employment & strengthen the local economy there.@@mikemines2931

It's a quarry not a mine, mines are underground quarry's are on surface.
@JamesKennedy-zs8go10 ай бұрын
Nope... It's called an opencast mine
@dubsydubs523410 ай бұрын
@@JamesKennedy-zs8go Google :- What is difference between mine and quarry? Mining is the process of extracting buried material below the earth surface. Quarrying refers to extracting materials directly from the surface. And they didn't say opencast mine they said mine which is incorrect, if we get pedantic we could call a lake a swimming pool, but that's why we have different words and don't just use one word for everything. If they had said more than mine it wouldn't have stood out as wrong, they could have said Open-pit mining, also known as open-cast or open-cut mining but they didn't.
