A good building rule for train inclines and declines. Use only one plate in height per 16 studs in length. That’s one straight track length.
@BatteryPoweredBricks
@BatteryPoweredBricks 9 ай бұрын
I think this is a good bit steeper than that. You couldn't really space it out with what the kit provides. In my case I think it's perfect, my layout space really isn't big enough to have a much longer but less steep incline. Using multiple motors and the upgraded rubber bands seems to work well.

So I wasn’t looking at any 3rd party tracks, but now I probably have to add it to my wish list. Thanks for that.

I'm glad to see them moving towards the injection molding. That kit looks really cool.

For sure, injection molding FTW. It's a bit cumbersome to store and setup later but I'm really happy with it overall

I didnt watch this channel for long but each time I discover something new, I was always into original lego piece and always think 3rd party wouldnt be an option but this has honestly change my view probably looking to get one of these soon, thanks for the review

Third party can be pretty hit or miss (mostly stuff from China) but I've been impressed with TrixBrix. The double straights and long radius curves are very high quality. The bridge has been using more and more injection molded parts over the years which definitely helps the quality. Thanks for watching!

I’ve been eyeing the infinity loop for a while and you’ve definitely inspired me to pull the trigger. I have some of the double straights already and have been impressed with the product! Also your Maersk train MOC looks incredible! Love the blue you chose!! Keep up the great content! 😃

Thanks! If you do end up picking it up be sure to share any thoughts you have. I'd be curious to hear what other's experiences are. I tried to give as much info as possible without the video being an hour long 😅

you should try distributive power for inclines that you have. Norfolk southern started running double coal trains in late 2022 i believe and helps them through the horseshoe curve
@BatteryPoweredBricks

This is true, so far I've just done multi-unit setups but DP would probably help in the inclines

OOPS 17:32 we have another disconnection. Would you recommend that the TRIXBRIX are better than the lego track as in build quality and reliability and are they interchangeable. Do you like the metal or plastic rails.Thank you.
@BatteryPoweredBricks
@BatteryPoweredBricks 7 ай бұрын
The injection molded tracks are spot on with Lego, the 3d printed special elements look different but work just as well. I use a mix of metal and plastic rails. I like the 9v system since I can power trains from the transformer but the plastic tracks offer far more for customized layouts.

I wanted to create a bridge across my room for the ceiling track but the bridge gets expensive really fast ;) gotta love the quality tho

For ceiling tracks and long expanses I'd just go with wood. LeggoMyJamesO has a pretty great ceiling layout and videos showing the progress of building it

@@BatteryPoweredBricks That indeed would be the sensible thing to do (especially that i have a lot of woodworking skills) but i just can't stop thinking about a nice lego truss bridge

maybe its me not believing in the power of the lego motor, but it seemss to be moreso that the motor is fighting for its life (struggling) than it being a traction issue
@BatteryPoweredBricks
@BatteryPoweredBricks 9 ай бұрын
It's a bit of both. The audio really didn't come through but the wheels are spinning with a single motor. I'll only be using the bridge with dual motor locomotives or multiple powered locomotives. I think the passenger train would have done fine with a powered locomotive at each end. The upgraded rubber bands definitely help a lot as well

Have you tried an incline with 9v powered track/trains? I haven’t run mine in a while but I thought inclines weren’t an issue. Thanks

It's something I want to try at some point. I won't be able to setup any layouts for a bit but it's definitely on the list

@@BatteryPoweredBricks I will be getting mine out again soon, finishing a room for my LEGO. I used K’NEX many years ago to build bridges and such for our trains.

Were they the old single piece (I assume) supports? Or where they build-able supports like these but 3d printed?
@novakasa5011
@novakasa5011 9 ай бұрын
@@BatteryPoweredBricks I bought the "supports bundle 2.0" or something like 1.5 years ago. Functionally it's exactly the same as what you showed in the video, but only the octagonal stackable bricks without pin holes are injection molded. All "feet" and "track mounts" are 3D printed. Interesting to see they're evolving!
@BatteryPoweredBricks
@BatteryPoweredBricks 9 ай бұрын
Oh nice! This confirms my suspicions. Maybe in the future all (or most) of it will be injection molded. The side supports for the track mounts would definitely benefit from being injection molded. I may fire off an email to them with this feedback and see if they have anything to share that I can pass on
