I wonder if man can make this cable but for PU motors.
@BatteryPoweredBricks
@BatteryPoweredBricks 2 күн бұрын
The problem is finding good PU sockets. The plugs used in this video are easy to find. The sockets are much more expensive and tend to be unreliable even if you do buy the high dollar ones from what I've heard from others

@BatteryPoweredBricks
@BatteryPoweredBricks 4 күн бұрын
Bricklink is probably the best option. They tend to be a lot cheaper internationally but shipping costs can add up. If you need a few it can be worth it. eBay tends to be overpriced but sometimes good deals will pop up every once in a while.

Things would definitely improve if you make the axles + buffers rotate, instead of fixed to the frame.
@GodmanchesterGoblin
@GodmanchesterGoblin 6 күн бұрын
It's not just the wheel base or the axle design that affects how the wagons manage the curves. The distance between the coupling and the axle also has a huge impact, which only gets worse with S bends. While you can't easily do it with the Lego switches, S bends are easier to navigate if there's a short straight between the two bends (Trixbrix do some very short track pieces).

I changed the axle and added ball bearings on nearly every bluebrixx train wagon. After the change they perform even better then the Lego train wheels - i take changing the wheels over having near to none / overpriced Lego trains
@Scotts_Blocks
@Scotts_Blocks 6 күн бұрын
YES you definitely have to swap out the wheels. The tanker car was the only one I still had problems with after the wheel change. I still had to reduce the wheel base by 2 studs. Awesome review!

I'm really impressed with the bluebrixx buffer magnet performance in this video. It would be great to do a video putting them through their paces with longer and heavier trains on the trixbrix inclines.

I agree, the only problem is BlueBrixx doesn't currently sell the buffers by themselves. I think I saw something that made me think they might in the future

Not sure if a person would use these as fodder to build more tankers from set 7939 or a longer tanker with 4 sets of the wheels on a LEGO train base....😂

3:50 - Too large distance between coupler and wheels
@boulevardbricks508
@boulevardbricks508 6 күн бұрын
YES, exactly. The axle spacing is even farther apart than the Lego "stock" tank car. Resistance in the corners will be terrible. Perhaps modify the bogies to articulate. Another "fix" that I've done is to use silicone lube that is safe for plastic to help the axles. I like the value for the wagons, though! I will look into these. Also, the AliExpress stuff I have bought so far is great - the R72 track is excellent.
@glenngross6605

I feel like the distance would be less of a factor if the buffers were allowed to rotate.

Thanks for another great video. I Always look on Blue Brixx kits as a set of parts at a good price. Even if you have to alter the build or swap out a few parts they are still good value. I also like that they make parts like train windows in colours Lego don’t do or are hard to find.
