I remember in 1989 when I was in kindergarten, my parents got me a “Barbie and the Beat” Barbie. She wore a denim jacket and matching skirt that glowed in the dark and she came with a neon pink guitar! I brought it to school to show my class and it was one of the best days ever! I miss that doll. To this day, it is one of my most favorite dolls I’ve ever received! 💕
@canaisyoung360111 ай бұрын
I think I had that same doll as a kid, because I remember the pink guitar. It could have been a doll version of Jem (that cartoon that basically did the premise to "Hannah Montana" before Miley Cyrus was even born [Cyrus was born in the 1990s; Jem was a 1980s cartoon]), but I'm pretty sure it was a Barbie doll.

in toy story deep lore, woody is an old rare vintage doll who was passed down by andy's father who died of adulthood complications from his childhood polio. so it's possible andy's little sister had a 1980s fitness barbie that was passed down by the mom. hahah and now that i think about it, her being a retro doll would explain why barbie was absolutely outraged when molly decided to just THROW HER AWAY

It was a one-off Christmas at my barely seen rich uncle's house, & his terrible wife made all the kids eat in the outdoor dining area in the cold. We weren't supposed to open presents til after dinner but my big sister walked in, left the door open & grabbed her present for me. When the "lady" of the house whined, "someone close that door- my feet are cold!" my sister said "Oh you poor thing; you can't enjoy your meal when your feet are cold. Let me get this door for you on my way OUT". And she slammed the door so hard I thought the windows would break. 😂 Then she said "here you go baby" and gave me this treasure. My favorite doll for a year, & a lifelong fave memory. 💖
