@@CoolBeans193 we can love that for her (and I do love Trixie) but I wanna fun police just a little and remind people that anyone who makes ~$1,000,000/year is making the money of about 70 minimum wage workers combined. So I'm so glad she was able to find her way out of poverty into social and financial success, but no one is entitled to that amount of wealth. @@rosegoldberg2469 Difference is Trixie has earned all of this for HERSELF. She does not exploit workers, she isn’t shady with where she gets her money. I love hearing Trixie discuss her Indigenous family. I just want to add that quantifying Indigenous identity is not necessary -- it was only ever colonial governments that imposed a blood quantum cut off on Indigenous citizenship. Our Indigenous tribes are nations, not a race, and as such, our nations determine citizenship, not colonial racialized systems designed to legislate us out of existence. I hope Trixie continues on this journey of rediscovery and reconnection.

The fact that you have a fully indigenous maternal line and it took you this long to reconcile your economic situation with racism speaks to how silly blood quantum is. Yeah you look white but you grew up in your Ojibwe mother’s house, who grew up in her Ojibwe mother’s house. I love it when you claim your indigenous heritage 💕💕💕💕 Love from South Africa 🇿🇦

People also tend to forget that the history of racism is not only about the colour of your skin, but that much of it was also about phrenology and trying to separate humans based on traits such as brow bone structure, nose width, size of lips etcetera. In certain racist historical and current contexts, Trixie would not read as the, mainly US-centric, category white, and it still is that way in places around the world.

7:05 I just want to say THANK YOU Trixie for saying this - a lot of us Indigenous people grow up “white” or “poor” and it’s usually not until we’re older that we can finally attribute our struggles growing up to what actually was Indigenous (intergenerational) trauma. Sometimes it’s also hard to embrace that we actually are Indigenous once we become an adult after we grew up not fully embracing those identities our whole lives, and we have to kind of grapple with the struggles of our childhoods all over again in a different way. Idk I just wanted to say it always validates me to hear you embrace your Ojibway heritage publicly in your videos and makes me happy to know we’re seen and you’re not afraid to shy away from it, so chi-miigwetch 💖

I think it's because sometimes when you have nothing growing up, your imagination never goes towards fantasizing about what you would do with money. Then when you're an adult who gets money, you're still stuck in a frugal mode AND you don't really even know what to spend it on because you're so adverse to "wasting" money. I remember I was working Boise Pride and was watching Trixie do soundcheck, and the way she bolted to the dip n dots stand, swiftly saying hi to me as she walked past. Honestly what I expected 100%, from what I know everyone at Boise Pride who worked with Trixie loved her.

I think Trixie is very comfortable in her skin these days. Same true for Brian. Comfy with who they both are, not needing to put on any pretenses. Success couldn't happen to a more deserving artist. Or a harder working one. I worry about her overextending herself physically/mentally but she actually seems to be thriving. So I should myob. I respect her on so many levels. 💖

I comment anywhere I can just how truly beautiful trixie motel is. When she said people cry when they walk in and when they leave it’s so true. I went I think 3 weeks after it opened and it’s a core memory for me. Not only is it stunning the people who go there are. I stayed up so late hanging out with people I just met like we had all been best friends for years. You really made a paradise trixie!!

My take of why Trixie is so famous and relatable is a mix between a make up signature, a self depreciating humor, a sense of self awarness, a crazy work ethic and the ability to make us feel that nothing is too serious

Im so silly but i got choked up when she talked about helping her family. Trixie is the same age as my sons, and though he doesn't make her kind of money, my oldest is an electrician in Atlanta and he and his wife are doing well. He always insists on helping me pay for things and my other son helps care for me since I'm disabled (ironically a failed knee replacement). It makes me uncomfortable because that's my job, but at the same time how blessed am I to have sons who love and care for me like Trixie cares for her mom?! ❤

I honestly LOVE that frugality is so part of Trixie's life despite her wealth because that means she also so often uses makeup that is not top dollar; I've bought so many makeup products she's recommended both BECAUSE they are inexpensive AND because despite their low price they're still high enough of a quality to last the extreme wear-and-tear of drag. So I immediately trust whatever she recommends for both quality and price tag.

I really appreciate her take on the wealth question. I think it's very important that people can recognize their priviledge ( worked for or otherwise ), and also at the same time be grounded in reality and not claiming to be "jUsT LiKe EvErYoNe eLsE!" I ofc get not wanting to talk about it tho. The wealth gap in this country is astronomical, and I'm sure that just opens the door to people expressing extreme bitterness ( even towards those undeserving )

I think Trixie Mattel should host a masterclass on charisma/ how the average person could build charisma. You are so charismatic and have such a down-to-earth but also endearing way of speaking, I wish I could develop skills like that. I'm sure this skill is partially just natural and intrinsic to who you are, but I would love to hear more about how you've built your demeanour and been able to so successfully brand and represent yourself. I think this talent is one of the reasons why you are so popular!

This was OUTSTANDING! TRIXIE AT HER MOST BEAUTIFUL AND SO CANDID. I think my initial draw was how genuine she was, how creative, and what a talented musician. Watching her with Katya through the dark times was harrowing by showed how much more to this we all need to see. She is driven and compassionate, and creative. I just adored this episode!!! Trixie is, in the best sense, a mensch. Thank you for this video! (And maybe not Katya's makeup, but something just dumb with her like....cooking or singing or interpretive dancing....being such perfect womens).🎉🎉🎉🎉
