@@freezybean3350 It's an issue because asian culture has been fetishized so much that traditional cultural dresses are seen as sexual rather than treated with respect. obviously there's a difference between cultural appreciation and cultural appropriation, but when celebrities wear asian dresses on stage to perform they're often treated as sexy and a money making machine. they're seen as 'exotic' and a fantasy which can perpetuate harmful stereotypes and sexual aggression towards people of color, who's existence has already been reduced to a white man's fantasy. if you'd want to learn more about this stuff i highly recommend you do your own research and look up some videos on the dangers of cultural appropriation and the fetishization of asian culture and aesthetics. it's a really good thing to learn about especially since asian hate crimes have skyrocketed from 2020-2021

I know you’ll never see this but I’m here for anything with the Spice Girl dolls. I was fortunate I was the little gay boy who had parents who bought them for me. The green Geri doll I remember my 5 ft Scottish mother threatening to beat some 500lb lady’s ass in a deep rural Georgia Kmart because she tried to snatch it out of my hand because it was the only one (this was after Geri left.) LOL before my mom passed, the last Christmas I had with her she had my sister go online and rebuy me as many of the dolls in mint condition as she could find so I did tear up slightly. The orange Mel B as a kid I didn’t get why they added the orange to her top not realizing that it wasn’t appropriate to have a doll with a seethru top with just designs over it and like nipple covers below. Thank you for the memories.
