"The modeled bridge is based on an actual huge stone bridge built in 1836 over Hommyo River at Isahaya, Japan. You can still see it at Isahaya Castle Park in Nagasaki Prefecture" and is noted in the Readme file.

The level edge is just brutal - they made no attempt to hide it. The whole level feels like some impossible dream sequence.
